Pay It Forward

Hi All!
Emmitt here!

I am happy as a clam!

because Winston, Clementine and Rachel invited us to play Pay It Forward. :)

Look what we got in the mail from them! A fabulous hand sewn apron with a pug applique, doggie cookies, the recipe and a cookie jar!

We love everything! Thank you Rachel, Winston and Clementine!

The Pay It Forward exchange is fun and easy to play. Here is the concept...

The exchange focuses on doing an act of kindness without expecting anything in return other than that the recipient will, in their turn, pass the kindness along and 'pay it forward' in their own way.

So here is how it works...

The first 3 people who comment on this post and want to play, please email me your mailing address so that I may send you a surprise.

Then all you do is post a Pay It Forward Exchange on your blog, link back to us, and send the first 3 people to comment on your post a little surprise.

It does not have to be expensive, store bought or even handmade. It can be whatever you want to send to make someone smile.

So if you would like to play with us, please be one of the first 3 to comment and let us know you are playing. Just email me your address so I can send you a fun gifty and then you can pass along the Pay It Forward on your blog to 3 more people!

Fun!

Thanks for explaining that mom! Emmitt back again and wishing you all a wonderful day!

Emmitt's Butt is Famous!

I am so excited! The super talented Rebecca Collins of Art Paw has immortalized Emmitt's butt in her new project, Catch you on the Flip Side.

After reading her call for entires, I emailed her this photo of Emmitt's tail and she created this wonderful piece. You can get one too in her Etsy shop if you would like.

Once there, you will find other wonderful portraits in her shop. Manon Doyle's boston terrier, Otis, is also a muse in this creative venture.

Rebecca also has a fabulous website and blog that you should check out.

Yes he is! :)

I cannot wait to receive my print of this wonderful collage inspired by my Emmitt.

Thank you Rebecca! We are thrilled to be a part of your exciting project.

Snow Day = Sew Day!

This past Thursday, we actually got measurable snow for the first time this winter in Boulder, CO!

It was the blizzard of 2009, and we got about 16 inches in about 8 or so hours. :)

So what do I do when I am snowed in? I sew up a storm!

I made piles of pug dolls for my Etsy shop and the two shows I will be traveling to in May to San Diego and Seattle.

You may wonder where Emmitt is in all of these pictures.

Well, I asked him to come outside and take some snow pictures.

and this is the reaction I got!

= No Emmitt in the snow pics this year. Ha! :)

With all of the snow, sewing and pug screaming around here, I have been a little behind in visiting all of your blogs. Sorry about that, but I will be by this weekend to catch up. :)
Happy Saturday everyone!

Fabulous Fabric Collages

6 x 8.5
Fabric on wood

I have to tell you about this amazing artist I found on Etsy. Her Name is Shellie Mitchell and she creates fabric on wood collages!

Her shop is called Shellieartist and she creates everything from abstracts to nature and still lifes.

Her process is her unique invention...
"Fabric on Wood Process- Each cut out piece of fabric is placed on the wood with a rice based starch and then polyurathaned several times. Some pieces are touched up with acrylic or oil paint, gel pens, oil pencils or anything I can get my hands on that I think will do the job."

You can find originals as well as prints in many sizes. They are the perfect gifts.
I treated myself to the grapefruit piece above and purchased the following 3 as gifts.

5 x 6
Fabric on Wood

8 x 8
Fabric on wood

2.5 x 3.5
ATC Print

Aren't they just amazing? Please visit her shop and her blog. You will be so glad you did!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

New To Do Lists on Etsy!

I have just added a new product to my Etsy Shop...
Print It Yourself To Do Lists in Pug, French Bulldog and Labrador Retriever Designs.
The listings are for a PDF file of the set of 3 lists that you choose. You will never run out of your favorite list paper again. Just print and cut them whenever you need them.

Pugs

Frenchies

I love this concept of print it when you need it. It is easy, efficient and economical. My friend Marisa of Creative Thursday gave me the idea. Please go and check out her shop and blog. She is fantastic!
Happy Creative Thursday everyone! :)

Emmitt's New Love...

Emmitt here and I am in love...

with the new little girl bear my mom just made for the Mother Bear Project.
I helped by laying on the yarn whenever she tried to crochet her. I even fell asleep on the scissors once or twice.

Don't we make a lovely couple?

I am going to bake her some cookies for her trip to Africa!

Mom says we are going to make her a few more bear friends to put in her box. Something about lots of pretty new yarn she just bought and needing for her to have company on her voyage.
All I know is that means she gets to stay here a little longer with me while I learn to bake and dance for her. Mom says, I have my singing down pat.

Emmitt & Spanky

Emmitt was a wonderful host to his friends!

Jodi

and Spanky

We had a perfect Spring 70 degree sunny day to have fun in the backyard.

Spanky found lots of sticks to play with.

Emmitt was so glad they were there!

It was a perfect day and we cannot wait for them to come back!
Here is a little video of Spanky. He just graduated advanced obedience today!
