Australian Shepherd - Pal 61

I just completed a new Pug Pal! Meet my Australian Shepherd. I am very happy with him, and he looks pleased to be here too, don't you think? :)

Pugs around the world sing to Emmitt!

I posted Emmitt's video "Emmitt & The Piggy" on You Tube a few months back, and somebody made a video of their pug singing to emmitt's video!

This totally made my day!

Emmitt cracks me up!

Poor baby! His Halloween 2007 costumes just arrived, and of course, I had to see how he looks! Emmitt is a lobster this year. His corgi cousin, Moe is going to be one too. For a surprise, I also got my pug a bonus costume! I could not resist getting Emmitt an outfit to look just like Moe. Emmitt wants to blend in with the smart herding dogs. Good try Emmitt, Good try!

New Pug Painting

I like this new painting of Emmitt that I just finished. It was inspired by a sketch I did at Art Camp . I love how different mediums can change the same image.

I spent the whole day framing all of my new art and then fred helped me hang it all. I love how it turned out!

The best part is all the frames were 1/2 off ($5 each) which is especially great when i make 17 pieces of art in one week!

Meet Baxter...

Meet Baxter the Pug who climbs 14ers!
My sister just emailed me this story from our local news channel, 9 news... http://www.9news.com/news/article.aspx?storyid=75688 .

Way to go Baxter! What a fun and inspiring story. It will make you smile!

Anderson Ranch 2007

I had an amazing time on my vacation last week at Art Camp. This is my second year taking printmaking classes at Anderson Ranch. We worked with completely non-toxic, water based Akua Inks. I will never go back to oil. These inks clean up with soap and water, yet give an effect much better than oil. They do not smell, dry quickly and are either transparent or deep depending how you choose to print. I focused on creating drypoint etchings which I am just in love with. I am so excited and appreciative of the knowledge and experience I had. Here is some of my work...

Fun Contest
I recently visited a great blog that had a prize giveaway for all the people who posted to the entry. I think it a great idea, so I am going to give it a try. :)

My giveaway prize is the set of three fabric flower pens you see. Two have vintage button centers, while the third has one of my pug paintings sewn on the front. I will be away on vacation next week, so I thought this would be a great way to stay in touch while I am gone.
To enter, please just comment to this August 11, 2007 "Fun Contest" post. All you need to say is hi. :) When I return home on Sat. August 18th, I will put all the names of the people who posted a comment in a hat, and I will randomly pick the winner. Check back on the 18th to see who won. I will send that person the set of handmade fabric flower pens.
Click on the picture to get a closer look at the prize.
Have a great week!
