Happy Friday everyone!

It is me...

R-Chee with my bird brother Gilbert. 

We are opening our own B & B for all of our fur & feathered friends today!

We got the brilliant idea from the mushrooms we saw growing in the garden!

We could not think of a better way to spend the weekend then to open up our kitchen and pug cave to all of our friends for a sleep over!

We are serving mushroom omelettes & then sleeping the afternoon away in by the window with the Summer sun & warm breezes blowing in!

Sister's Art Retreat June 2013 ~ Project 2 ~ Batiks!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I am so excited to show you the second project that Melly and I finished on our twin sister's art retreat last weekend!

On Monday, I showed you the felt house village we created and today I will get to show you the batiks we completed together!

We started drawing them last month in our Batik 101 class and got to paint them together right after we finished making the village!

Melanie created this fabulous mountain bike scene and I made a bunny!

The photo above shows what it looks like before you wash and dry it...

... and this is what it looks like after!

Melanie is making hers into a wall hanging!

... and I simply machine sewed mine onto an old pillow cover that I had in the closet, and then hand stitched orange pom pom trim around it just like I did for my first batik so that they would match on the bed! :)

Ta Da!

I just loved how they turned out!

Melanie and I had so much FUN!

We even got to read our books a little, and I worked on my rug hooking for R-Chee's pug cave on the way home.

It is almost done and I will be able to show it to you soon!

We had such a blast that we have already planned another twin sister's art retreat for a weekend in July & August!

I know more Batiks & Felt Houses are planned and a special crochet project will be started too!

Twin Sister's Art Retreat - June 2013 - Felted Houses!

Happy Monday Everyone!

Oh what a magical art retreat Melanie and I had together this weekend in the mountains!

I cannot wait to show you all the things we made!

I will break the projects up into a few posts so that I can show you everything!

We arrived to Melly's little mountain cabin on Friday afternoon and did not stop crafting until Sunday!

It was non-stop FUN!

The 1st project we created were these little hand sewn wool felted houses that we made from wool felted sweaters and scrap pieces.

We made a whole village!

We got the pattern from a wonderful tutorial & pattern on Craftsy.com, called Fab Felt Holiday Crafts!

They are so fast and easy to make!

We cut out the pieces on Friday night and started sewing them before bed.

We woke up with excitement on Saturday morning to start stuffing and decorating them!

Here are our houses in progress after starting to embellish them!

... and here are the 3 that Melanie made!

These are the 2 that I created!

Then on the way home to Boulder, we even stopped at Joann's Fabrics  to pick up some trim to put on some finishing touches!

That was soooo much FUN that we are going to make a whole village!

The houses were just the first project we made!

I cannot wait to show you more this week!

Friday Funnies ~ R-Chee is on Strike!

Momma, I am going to sit like this until you come home on Sunday from your art retreat with auntie Melly this weekend!

I sure hope you make me something good for my pug cave because my arms are crossed & I cannot make myself anything!

A Wonderful Wednesday Afternoon ~ New Whimsical Blobs!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

R-Chee and I had so much FUN today when we pulled out our set of kid's markers, colored pencils, glitter glue pens and water color paints!

We found lots of whimsical creatures to outline & bring to life in my blob book that I started last Fall in Carla Sonheim's workshop offered through Art Camp for Women.

We had a wonderful day together!

Relax and just make some art from your heart today!

It is so FUN to create something you enjoy in the garden, kitchen, studio or sandbox!

Just Play a bit today!

It will make you happy!

That is the greatest gift we can give to anyone...

A smile & some cheer!

Speaking of creating, smiles, cheer and art...

My twin, Melanie, & I are going on a sister's art retreat together this weekend!

Yipppeee!

We leave on Friday so I will be back blogging next week to show you what we made!

We are going to make more batik paintings and pillows together, crochet and read a book we got just for this weekend to start together and have a summer book club!

Fun in the Sun with our NEW Mother Bear ~ The Sunshine Bear!

It is me...

R-Chee!

I am so excited to show you my New Mother Bear Project donation we made to send to Africa!

This little guy is ready for summer with his beach towel, swim trunks and sunglasses!

Ta Da!

He even has a golden tan to show off already! :)

...but he was not always so ready for his photo shoot.

Heee!

Here is what he looked like before we stuffed and shaped him!

We had a FUN day in the sun together here in Colorado and now he is all ready to go to Africa and make lots of children happy!

Friday Funnies ~ R-Chee is Hatching a Plan!

Hi Everyone!

Happy Friday!

I have been hatching a plan today that I need your help with!

It all started after I had a magical dream last night!

Before I went up to bed, I said goodnight to The Man in The Moon like I always do.

And to my surprise... during the night The Man in the Moon tapped on my window above my dog bed!

He appeared to me like this (in a very clever egg-shaped formation) while he was sharing an idea he had for me...

He thought it would be FUN for us to become CHICKEN Ranchers of all things!

We could raise them together and make scrambly eggs every morning while he is setting and I am rising with Mr. Sun!

My parrotlet brother Gilbert & I just LOVE this idea!

We can get little chicks and a super duper high rise coop to raise them in style!

Would you like to help us eat eggs every morning?

We just need to convince my mummy to let us have a chicken coop!

Will you write her a note in the comments and tell her all the reasons why we should get a box of cute, fluffy yellow chicks and a super duper coop?

I know she would help us if she knew you would help us eat all the eggs they lay!

I promise to cook them every morning with little toast soldiers to either scoop or dip them into!

I could even make us some french toast bites!

Let's get to work!

I'll start clucking & thinking of names for our chicks while you write your notes on our bloggie!

If all goes well, we are going to be the best chicken ranchers in the West!

Yipppeee!!!!

...soon all of us will have yummy brekkies together every morning!
