Meet My Friend Leann!

Happy Friday everyone!

I want to introduce you to my friend Leann.

She hired me over 20 years ago to work in her frame shop in Michigan and she never got rid of me! :)

She and her wonderful husband Mark came to visit us this past August and we had a blast!

Leann has taught me so many things over the years. She is a master carver and book binder was the inspiration for me to learn both how to carve my stamps and make journals.

I was so excited to receive a package from her last week. Look what she made for me!

A hand carved stamp of Emmitt with gorgeous prints too!

I ran right out and framed them!

Aren't they amazing?

Leann not only handcarves stamps, but she also makes fabulous fabric dolls, watercolors and much, much more that you can purchase in her Etsy Shop, Wiccadoo, and her blog.
Please stop by and say hello! She would love to meet you. Just tell her "The Short Framer" sent you. She will know who that is! :)

Black Pug Stamp - A70

One of the most fun things about creating a new painting is being able to translate it into other forms of art I love to create like handcarved stamps and colorful collages.

It is so much fun to create these stamps because you need to break down in your mind what you want to print (black) and what you want to take away (white).

The black pugs carve up much quicker than the fawn ones because there is less to carve away. :)

To show you how I make them and how easy they are to create, I created a tutorial on Squidoo to show how I make my stamps.

and while surfing the web the other day, I found this cute French Pug hard at work. Maybe we should tell him about working for the snuggle puggle, Eduardo.
I love thinking about all of the puggies all over the world making people smile. :)
Happy Thursday everyone!

Print It Yourself - Weekly Planners

New to my Etsy Shop:

Print it Yourself ~ Weekly Planners!

I am happy to introduce my new weekly planners filled with all of my pug collages, carvings or dog paintings to keep you company while you plan your week. There is lots of space to write in you daily activities during the week as well as a place for notes and ideas.

The file is emailed to you as a PDF and you can print as many as you need whenever you want. Each sheet is 8.5 x 11 and can fit easily on your desk or your refridgerator to help you plan your week.

Dog art + a Planner, my two favorite things!

Emmitt asked if i would write down, "Give pug lots of cookies" at the top of everyday.

I told him no problem! Its a Done Deal!

Thanks for taking a peek at my new stuff. I always appreciate your feedback and ideas!

New Pug Collage and Hand Carved Stamp - A69

I am having so much fun with my new pug painting - A69!

This week I made it into a hand carved stamp and a collage.
I love how transforming my painting into different mediums changes it, but that in many ways it also stays the same. How neat!

Hand Carved Stamp
The collage is now available in my Etsy store as both a signed print and a set of 10 note cards.
I realized that until now, I had not yet carved a black pug stamp. I think that is so funny because black pugs are way faster to carve than fawn pugs because you leave everything alone on the PZ Cut that you want to print black. That means you only carve out the white lines. :)

Here is a skidoo lens I wrote on how to make handcarved stamps.

I was so excited that my friend, Manon, carved some stamps the other day! Aren't they wonderful! Please let me know if you try it too! I would love to see!

Do You Squidoo?

What is Squidoo you ask?

It is a wonderful site where anybody can create their own "How To" web pages about anything for free!

On Squidoo you create lessons or "lenses" about anything you want to share or teach. You can create a lens about your favorite recipe or even how to change a tire on your car!
You can even create a lens on how to create a Squidoo page!

Squidoo is great because it is a content builder for the search engine machine known as Google. If you want to get found on topics you are excited about, create a Squidoo lens.

I created 3 lenses so far...

To keep track of my latest lenses, I started a list of them right here on my blog roll.

I think it is so fun to learn about all of these great ways to learn, connect and grow.

Do you Squidoo? Please leave me links to yours or your favorite lenses so I can favorite them too!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Meet My Friend Ingrid!

Happy Friday everyone! Emmitt here!

I have a very special friend to introduce to you. Her name is Ingrid, and she is my canine massage therapist.

She has become a very special part of our family.

I love her and her weekly visits. She takes all of the tension out of my body.

and look at the great bone I get every week to keep me occupied while I get my massage.

Ingrid laughs alot at my silly puggy antics. I am her first pug client and I know she has fallen in love with me.

Here I am telling Ingrid and Mom what a good boy I am and that I now deserve a reward from the cookie cabinet!

Mom and I both love Ingrid. She has taught mom how to work on my neck, shoulders and hips during the days Ingrid is not there to help relieve any stiffness I may feel.

We appreciate Ingrid so much that mom wanted to make her something, so she surpised Ingrid with this special stamp she carved of Ingrid with her two dogs, Raven and Ariel.

and gave it to her in this little red box. :)

It is so wonderful to meet so many friends that make this journey a fun and exciting place to be!
Thank you for coming a visiting us today! We appreciate you! Have a wonderful weekend!
