Look Who is Coming to Dinner...

Happy Memorial Day everyone!
Look at this amazing shot of a fox at our front door!
Our little security camera emailed it to Fred last night.
It seems he heard about Emmitt's mini-meatloaves and had to try them!
Fire up the Grill and pass the ketchup!
Have a safe and wonderful day!

Black Pug Stamp - A70

One of the most fun things about creating a new painting is being able to translate it into other forms of art I love to create like handcarved stamps and colorful collages.

It is so much fun to create these stamps because you need to break down in your mind what you want to print (black) and what you want to take away (white).

The black pugs carve up much quicker than the fawn ones because there is less to carve away. :)

To show you how I make them and how easy they are to create, I created a tutorial on Squidoo to show how I make my stamps.

and while surfing the web the other day, I found this cute French Pug hard at work. Maybe we should tell him about working for the snuggle puggle, Eduardo.
I love thinking about all of the puggies all over the world making people smile. :)
Happy Thursday everyone!

Emmitt's Buds from the Hood...

Hi everyone! Emmitt here!
So, my pawrents set up a little camera on the front porch that emails snapshots to their computer of visitors who come to the door.
We get lots of pictures of the mail person, UPS delivery and the milk man. :)
So to their surprise, they almost died laughing at the picture from 3:00 pm on Sunday afternoon...

I asked them what was so funny? I 've got friends too!

Emmitt is a very Good Boy!

I just got home from San Diego and Seattle and could not wait to get home to see my Emmitt.
He took care of the house and Pug Notes while we were away.

I was not quite sure what to expect but to my surprise, Emmitt has cleaned the whole house and filled every Pug Notes Order!
Wow!
What a good pug, but he his very pooped and looking a little, well ...bloated!

Does anyone know what really went on here while I was away. All Emmitt has said is ZZZZZzzzz , burp, zzzzzZZZZZ.

Hmmmmmm....

Please leave me a comment if you notice anything funny with any of your doggies' or kitties behavior. :)

Emmitt Kisses...

Emmitt has been sending kisses all morning...

He loves to lick his nose when he is happy.
In other fun pug news, Emmitt and I like this heart warming story about a Mastiff and his little pug brothers...

Dog Honored for Donating Blood

APPosted: 2008-02-19 10:38:38

HOWELL, Mich. (Feb. 19) - He's donated blood 20 times and is being honored by the Livingston County chapter of the American Red Cross.

Lurch, a 200-pound English Mastiff, is being honored by his local American Red Cross chapter in Michigan. The 2-year-old has donated blood 20 times, helping dozens of dogs.
Not bad for a 200-pound, 2-year-old English mastiff who answers to the name Lurch. He'll receive the chapter's "Pet's Best Friend" award at an event here Thursday.
"We're doing something different this year," executive director Diane Serra said. "We're honoring Lurch because he's actually donated blood."
Lurch's owner, Joni Melvin-Thiede, said Lurch donates blood for other canines about once every four weeks. His blood has helped dozens, including saving one dog who got into some rat poison.
"You really don't end up knowing which dogs he helps, but his little picture goes on each bag so the person that gets it will actually know it."
Besides being cooperative with nurses, Lurch is also friendly with his housemates: four pugs, seven cats and the occasional litter of kittens. There's also an American mastiff named Lucas, who teams with Lurch to eat about 200 pounds of food per month.
"Mastiffs are just like 200-pound pugs," Melvin-Thiede said. "They're just as friendly and just as goofy except they have a couple more zeros at the end of the weight."

Dog and Cat of the Year 2007

Happy Friday! This is a great story to end the week.
I love that both of these animals were saved themselves as babies.
.............................................................................................................................................
NEW YORK (AP) - When the Keesling family of Indiana was about to be overcome by carbon monoxide, their cat clawed at wife Cathy's hair until she woke up and called for help.

When Debbie Parkhurst choked on a piece of apple at her Maryland home, her dog jumped in, landing hard on her chest and forcing the morsel to pop out of her throat.

For their nick-of-time acts, Toby, a 2 1/2-year-old golden retriever, and Winnie, a gray-eyed American shorthair, were named Dog and Cat of the Year by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

In addition, five humans were honored Thursday for their actions toward animals in the past year, including a Bronx firefighter who saved a dog and cat from a burning building. Neither Parkhurst nor Keesling could explain their pets' timely heroics, though Parkhurst suggested her pooch's Heimlich maneuver might have been guided by divine intervention."That's what our veterinarian said," she said. "He wasn't making a joke; he's very spiritual, and now I have to agree with him."

Both pets were themselves rescued in infancy - Toby as a 4-week-old puppy tossed into a garbage bin to die, and Winnie as a week-old orphan hiding under a barn, so helpless that Keesling's husband, Eric, had to feed her milk with an eyedropper.

As the Keeslings recalled it, a gas-driven pump being used to remove flood waters from their basement in New Castle, Ind., last March malfunctioned, spreading carbon monoxide through the house. By the time Winnie moved into rescue mode, the couple's 14-year-old son, Michael, was already unconscious."Winnie jumped on the bed and was clawing at me, with a kind of angry meow," Cathy Keesling said. "When I woke up I felt like a T-bar had hit me across the head."State police and sheriff's officers responding to her 911 call said the family was only minutes from death, judging by the amount of poisonous gas in the house.

Debbie Parkhurst's husband, Kevin, was at his job at a Wilmington, Del., chemical firm when she took a midday break from making jewelry and bit into an apple."Normally I peel them, but I read in Good Housekeeping magazine that the skin has all the nutrients, so I ate the skin, and that's what caused me to choke," she recalled."I couldn't breathe and I was in panic when Toby jumped on me. He never does that, but he did, and saved my life."

Both Toby and Winnie accompanied their owners to the awards luncheon at Manhattan's posh Rainbow Room atop Rockefeller Center.
