Crafty Monday and Award Day!

We had the best weekend at the quilt show, leather journal class and the Pug Show!
I have lots of pictures to show you this week. I just have to get them organized for you. :)

In the meantime, I'll show you a project I made last week...

I had the best time making this flower pincushion from a FREE pattern I found online. It was so fast and easy to do that I will be making alot more!

Emmitt says he wants his very own flower. Of course Emmitt, I will make you one with some dog cookie fabric I just got at the quilt fair! Just don't eat it! Silly Pug!

I also wanted to share 2 wonderful awards I received last week. My friend, Diana, made this One Sweet Blog award and shared it with me. Thank you so much Diana!

and my friends Sandra & Coco, Harry Pugalicious and Rachel, Winston and Clemmy shared this kick ass blogger award with me. I am honored. Thank you so much!

I am excited to show you the leather journals Melanie and I made, the fabric we got at the quilt show and the 100's of puggies we saw in wonderful costumes at Pugs in the Park.

Fun! Fun! Fun!

Happy Monday everyone!

Friday Fun!

Baby Emmitt Circa 1996
Emmitt and I have been tagged by Salinger for the Adore Le Pug meme.

We get to answer these questions and pass on the fun!
1) How did you first learn about Pugs?

It was 1996, and I just opened my mobile frame shop. I was at a customer's house and what bounced in to the room, but 2 roly poly pugs. they were hyper and smiling and ran right over to me and gave me lots of hugs and kisses. I brought Fred over the next day to meet them.

2) What made you get a Pug?

After that, we did our research and learned all about pugs. Then, it was just a matter of finding one! The rest is history!

3) Most memorable moment with your Pug (s).
That is a hard one. I guess I will always remember the day we had Emmitt in obedience class. Being in Boulder, CO, Emmitt was really the tinest thing in class. He was surrounded by lots of big playful labs.
The teacher had them all line up at the end of a really long room. all the people stood on the other end and the dogs were on a wait until they were released to come to us.
well, one of the big labs made a run for it and started a stampede before they were supposed to move. when all the dust settled. only one little figure stood across the room, just blinking.
it was my emmitt, waiting to be released for his cheerio. oy! fred and i laughed so hard we nearly pee'd our pants. :)
what a good puggy. he got a whole bunch of cheerios for that one!
4) What is the most important thing Pugs (or dogs) have taught you?

Emmitt has taught me so much, but the one thing he has really showed me over the years is how to stay in the moment and to be happy there. It is a great feeling place, because everything is always well and there are no worries right in that moment.
5) Best Thing You Ever Did For Your Pug….aside from loving them, keeping them healthy & happy, and giving them a great life.
I think that would be to listen to what he was telling us. I know that sounds weird, but Emmitt is a very good communicator. he has lots of important things on his mind, and if you let him, he will tell you. i think all creatures on the planet want to feel heard and appreciated. over the years i think i have tuned into emmitt's channel to be able to hear him. i think he likes that and makes him a happy pug.
6) Post your answers on why you “Adore Le Pug” on your blog and link to the blog who tagged you (or their blog post).
7) Tag 5 or more other bloggers.
We tag... clover, pugsley, roxy, howie and frances
Have a great weekend everyone!

Pug Love...

Emmitt and I got some very good advice from a good friend last week.

Roxy reminded us to tell people around us how much we love and appreciate them. It made me realize how much I think about it everyday, but maybe do not take the time to actually express it outloud.

Here is Emmitt singing outloud how much we love and appreciate you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to come and visit us today.

Our friends Diana and Roxy both recently gave us awards. Thank you soooooo much! You absolutely made our day!

Each award came with slightly different directions to spread the fun, so I am going to combine the two and give the awards (you get to choose the artwork) to friends who stop by and visit us almost everyday and say hello. Your comments mean the world to us!

linda, manon, roxy, diana, fannie, nancy, leslie, sandy, nichol, nevis, rachel, maggie & mitch, lisa, wendy, anne, jill, rebecca, moira, karine, tere, liz & henri, ruth, clover, jamie, leann, peng peng, marianne, tara, jen and francis.

I also really appreciate everyone else who visits that I do not know about. Please take your favorite award too! Thank you for stopping by! :)

Have a wonderful day everyone!

This is the front of my Cold Box. It has two crazy fiber art faces on the front that I got at an art show last winter. They crack me up!

Here is the side of my cold box. It has pictures of Moe, Emmitt, Fred and me held up by magnets from friends, etsy and the little Pinocchio is from Spain. My friend Briggs just brought him back for me. Isn't he great?
I crocheted the flower granny squares out of Lopi Wool Yarn and hung them there for fun.

Meet our Newest Pug Friends and an Award

Meet our new friend, Clover.

She is a very smart puggy who lives in Canada. She has a wonderful blog called Clover's Adventures that shows us all the new things she is learning and doing everyday.

Like learning to swim!

Clover was so sweet to honor us with this blog award!
Emmitt and I are so excited that we would like to share it with our friend...

His mom, Nancy Medina is an extremely talented artist. She has a new blog called Outside the Lines where she shares her art, pug stories of her famous pugs, Howie, Annie and Java and their special angel pug sister, Winnie.
and wonderful rescue stories of the pugs she has met over the years and seen go to wonderful forever homes.

Here is a picture of their friend, Killer, learning to swim at a pool pawty!
Look at that face!
Please welcome Nancy to the blogosphere. She would love to meet you!

Emmitt says, he does not know how to swim, but this is what he would do if he knew how and had a pool!

The Secret of the Circle Tags and a Meme!

Thank you all for your nice comments about my booth. It was so much fun to do and I wanted to share one of my little money saving secrets. When putting my booth together, I wanted a clear and inexpensive way to price my items. I also wanted the tag to be easily replaced or updated when necessary. I found the perfect solution...

Yogurt lids! I just saved them everyday after breakfast and made paper circles on my computer that I just cut out and tape in! Voila!

Emmitt says Hi! and wants to share this meme...

Roxy tagged us for the Six Word Memoir meme.
Here are the rules:
1) Write your own six word memoir.
2) Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you’d like.
3) Link to the person that tagged you in your post, and to the original post if possible so we can track it as it travels across the blogosphere.
4) Tag at least five more blogs with links.
5) Don’t forget to leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play.
6) Have fun

Emmitt - Breakfast, mom, nap, walk, sniff, Dinner!

Emmitt would like to tag Linda & Maisie, Liz & Henri, Weeny & Daisy, Pearl & Daisy, Diana & Minnie . :)

Think Jot Draw Contest Results are In...

A few months ago, I entered the Think.Jot.Draw Cover Contest.
The winner gets the privilege of having their artwork on the cover of the book, printed in a limited edition, and will receive several copies and Sharpie pens.

The results were just announced, and I am happy to say that I received Honorable Dog Mention, and I will receive a copy of my favorite journal, Think Jot Draw. YAY!

The judge, Amanda Shepherd, children's book illustrator and artist, wrote a commentary on all of the entries...

HONORABLE DOG MENTION
Melissa Langer: Love, love, love the dog! This dog has so much personality and character. I have never seen anything like him. This is a great thing -- very close to a portfolio piece... read more...

I really enjoyed participating in this great contest. Think.Jot.Draw is a wonderful planning journal for all of your projects and keeps your patterns, ideas and doodles all in one place. I use it to record all of my favorite crochet patterns. It even came to Jamaica with me to make pug tape mesures and finger puppets. It is great for adult and kids. The creator, Leeza Hernadez has created a Kid's Gallery for children to send in their drawings that they create in their journals.

I just love this book!

Now that I have participated in a contest, I will not be so intimidated to join in on more in the future. It was FUN!

Thank you for playing!

We are home from Jamaica and we had a wonderful time!

Emmitt was so happy when I got home. It was last night at 11:30 pm and the sleepy pug would not leave my side as I unpacked and got ready for sleeeeeep. He just leaned on me until i guided him to his little bed.

He just helped me pick two names out of his dog bowl as the lucky winners of the contest. The prize is any signed print from my entire pug or pal collection.
I want to thank everyone for playing! The two names are Roxy, The Devil Dog and Nevis. :)
Please email me your snail mail address and the code of the pug or pal you would like.
Thank you all so much again for saying Hi. I will have another contest again soon. :)

Think.Jot. Draw is a wonderful creative journal that allows you to dream about and plan out your projects in several different formatted pages. I love mine, and I hope I win the contest as the winner receives several copies of the journal with their artwork on the cover in a limited run.

You can see all the contestant's works here.

If you like my pug collage, you can purchase it reproduced on notecards in my Etsy Store.

$10 can save a life - A Place to Bark

A Place to Bark is a non-profit organization that saves the lives a beautiful animals from certain death due to illness, abandonment or overcrowing in animal shelters.

Bernie does the unbelieveably hard work of saving these beautiful animals. Work that I would not have the strength to do. My heart would break first, but Bernie has the gift of seeing the light at the end of their dark tunnels and creates a bright reality everyday for these dogs and cats.

The video above was made by Claudine Hellmuth, a wonderful artist and a true friend. Thank you Claudine for making this wonderful video.

Please donate just $10 today by clicking on the donate button on the badge above to help Bernie get a grant to build a shelter so that she may continue to save more dogs and cats that deserve a happy healthy life.

To help spread the word, please just click on the share tab on the badge above and post the link or code in your blog and or website.

We only have until Thursday Jan. 31, 3:00 EST to accomplish this amazing goal.

And an added fun bonus... when you donate you are automatically entered into a raffle to win a thank you prize donated by several generous artists. I am honored to be one of them, and I have donated a signed print of any pug or pal the winner chooses.

We can make a difference in the lives of so many cats and dogs that just need a little help to have the wonderful lives they so deserve.

More new stuff and a Lucky Tag

Our third new fun product is a License Plate! They are bright and cheerful and also come in all 100+ pug or pal paintings so you can show off your favorite pug expression or dog breed all over town.

In other fun news... Emmitt and I have been tagged for a meme. Here are the rules.

1) You have to post who tagged you and link back to them. Our good friend Lucky tagged us.

2) You have to tag 3 other kitties, beans, woofies, or any other assorted animal.

3) What three things would you do that you have never done before, if you knew you wouldn't get caught, get in trouble, or suffer any consequences.

Emmitt says he would wear his superman outfit everyday and fly around the world looking for new yummy foods to eat.

He would watch the animal channel everyday and talk to all the animals he sees.

He would have a never ending supply of cookies that he could eat and never get an upset tummy.

He would sit on his favorite chair all day, and his chair would not move. :)

He would be able to leave all of his stuffies everywhere without mom putting them back in the toy box so he would always have one close by.

He would taste everything!

I had to think hard about what I would do and not get into trouble and the only thing I can think of right now is to drink unlimited amounts of coffee without feeling sick. :) HA! Can you tell I have already gulped down my first cup this morning and am wanting another?

The four furry friends we are taggin are:
Maisie, Darby and Weeny & Daisy to spill the beans on what they would love to do and not get into trouble.
