Crochet Project ~ Felted Acorn

Happy Monday everyone!

Melanie and I had the best time at the Wool Market show this weekend!

I will show you all of the fun things we saw, but today I want to show you the wool acorn box I just crocheted and felted.

Isn't it cute?

I completed the Felted Mushroom a few months ago and just now made the Acorn Box.

Melanie found the wonderful pattern on Etsy from Knot Sew Cute.

It is the perfect project to learn how to crochet in the round, increase and decrease stitches and felt a crochet piece.

Sweater Vest Sightings ~ USA & Canada

Happy Friday everyone!

I have some fabulous photos to share with you!

Winston and Tweedles' moms were so sweet to send me pictures of their puggies enjoying their new Sweater Vests!

Winston lives in Burnaby, BC and Tweedles lives in Oregon. :)

I have added them to the Sweater Vest Gallery and smile everytime I see them!

I just love that the folds in the poppies match the pug folds on her sweet face!

New Pug Painting - The Smiling Pug - A75

Hi everybody!

I am so excited to share the latest pug painting I just finished.

He is a Smiling Pug and he makes me happy!

Look at those crooked pug teeth!

Last week I showed you the process of how I create my paintings, and I thought it would be fun take pictures along the way of this new one while I was in the flow...

First layers of fur and shading have begun!

The expression is starting to come to life!

Next step: The Smile!

Oh he is coming to life!

Next steps: The background and fine lines...

I think the blue makes him pop with a feeling of a sunny day!

and the final lines just finish him off.

Ta Da!

He is now officially Pug A75 on my website and can be put on any of my products that you can choose the design.

Treasury Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Wow! Summer is almost here!

I am so excited that both Melanie and I were recently featured in different Treasuries on Etsy.

I am also really excited that it is June because our friend, Bogart is coming to Camp Emmitt for a visit for about 2 weeks!

Emmitt loves when Bogart comes to stay.

He is just the sweetest puggy who is always happy and ready to play!

I know I will have lots of fun stories to share with you in the coming days.

Small Owl Ball

I had so much fun making another crocheted owl ball this weekend. :)

I used the same yarn, but a smaller hook, E instead of G.

I love the momma and baby together!

Mother Bear Sighting: Melanie's Bear in Liberia!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I have very exciting news!

Amy from the Mother Bear Project just sent us this amazing photo of Melanie's first bear she ever crocheted being loved by a child in Liberia!



Melanie sent him in her box of bears that she made for The Mother Bear Project earlier this year.

If you remember, she had another sighting in South Africa with some of these bears just a couple of months ago. The odds of getting photos of any bears is amazing so this is just magical!

This photo brought happy tears to both of our eyes.

Melanie's bears are very special.

She not only crochets them for charity, but also has an Etsy Shop filled with wool and cashmere felted bears that she makes by hand.

I am so excited because we are going on our annual Sister Retreat Vacation the week of July 4th.

We are going on a cruise to Alaska, and we will make lots of bears together on the ship!

Yippeeeee!

New Pug Painting ~ A74

Hi everyone!

I am so excited to show you the little fawn pug I painted yesterday.

She is the first painting of 2010, and I really love her expression!

It is so exhilarating when the energy to paint comes over me.

I cannot paint everyday and in fact, it has been several months since I have created a painting.

I have documented how I create my paintings for you on my website.

It always feels like magic to me.

I go into a wonderful quiet place where I hear the birds chirping and when I look up, a new little face is staring back at me from my art table!

She is now officially Pug A74 on my website and can be put on any of my products that you can choose the design.

Emmitt seems to like her. He just offered her a piece of meatloaf with little roasted potates and extra ketchup on the side.

I think he has made a new friend!
