Denver Art Museum - Rocky Mountain Majesty

Hi Everyone!

Happy Wednesday!

Fred and I love going to the Denver Art Museum whenever we can. :)

Recently we went to enjoy the amazing & unique Becoming Van Gogh Show that is still on exhibit for one more week.

The Denver Art Museum will be open 24/7 this weekend for people wanting to see it before it leaves forever!

We missed all of the crowds back in October to see it and now we went around them again to see Rocky Mountain Majesty ~ The Paintings of Charles Partridge Adams

I loved all of the oil, watercolor and charcoal paintings that this unique and prolific artist shared with the world of scenes from my favorite places to visit!

I am so lucky that all of these places he painted are within driving distance from my house and I have visited many of the gorgeous peaks he loved to capture with his pigments.

"Charles Partridge Adams was a Colorado landscape painter active during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Rocky Mountain Majesty: The Paintings of Charles Partridge Adams marks the first time that Adams’ paintings will be displayed together at a major art museum; and the Denver Art Museum will be the sole venue for this important exhibition that highlights his greatest paintings of Colorado."

Fred & I were taken a back by the grandeur he captured in his oils as well as the fine details he delicately painted in his small watercolor paintings.

We cannot wait until February to return to see the installation of Georgia O'Keeffe in New Mexico. :)

"The exhibition brings to light a relatively unknown aspect of Georgia O’Keeffe’s art and thinking—her deep respect for the diverse and distinctive cultures of northern New Mexico. The exhibition features 53 O’Keeffe works including 15 rarely seen pictures of different Hopi katsina tihu, along with examples of these types of figures. Chronicling her artwork created in New Mexico, the exhibition explores O’Keeffe’s paintings of New Mexico’s Hispanic and Native American architecture, cultural objects, and her New Mexico landscapes."

What FUN things are you looking forward to doing and seeing this year?

Please leave us a note and let us know!

We cannot wait to hear all about them!

Denver Art Museum ~ The Van Gogh Exhibit!

 Happy Wednesday everyone!

Fred and I had the best time exploring the Van Gogh exhibit at the Denver Art Museum together. :)

The 5 oranges above was my favorite painting from the show!

Of course after the show Fred and I visited the gift shop!

I got a Sunflower lunchbox and a Poppy pencil case to hold my watercolor blob book and markers so that I could organize & bring my book, markers, pencils and watercolor set with me easily and with inspiration built right in!

Ta Da!

Have a Super day creating FUN in what ever you do today!

Please leave us a note and tell us what you do!

We cannot wait to hear all about it!

Fiber Art Show 2012!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I have some FUN Fiber Art to show you!

Melanie & I got to go the our favorite annual Fiber Art Show this weekend and I found a knit pug!

Well, acually it might be a pug or a sheep or a smiling white fluffy creature, but whatever he is... he speaks LOVE to me so I had to have him for my collection! :)

Melanie got add a new piece of needle felted art by Heide Murray to her collection too!

Look at this fabulous gingerman friend we found to keep her Ollie birdy company!

Just amazing!

We had so much FUN together!

What FUN Holiday Shows do you plan on going to this year?

Please leave us a note and let us know.

We cannot wait to hear all about it!

Art Fair Finds ~ New Art From Breckenridge, CO

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited to show you what I found at the art fair in Breckenridge from Labor day weekend!

I got the wonderful ceramic pug face shown above and a bead embedded bowl that I glued a saw tooth hanger on and hung on the wall right next to it!

I think the colors and textures of each of them are so interesting together!

Beside the beaded bowl, I also got two planters from my friend, David Jessup, The Green Collar Guy.

I am always so excited to get new pieces from him every year.

Here are the ones I got last year to hold my Crocheted Sea Formations.

The first one is actually a planter, but I am using it as a spice rack of sorts. :)

The second one is a gift for Melanie!

It has little red and green plastic beads incorporated into the design.

It is the perfect choice since those were our favorite kinds of beads to craft with together at summer camp when we were kids.

We used to collect them so this planter was so FUN to find!

What art fairs did you get to go to this Summer?

Please write us a note and let us know!

We cannot wait to hear what you found!
