Dreaming of Blue Butterflies

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

It is me...
Archie!

Today is a special day to honor our veterans who have died in war.

When we think of them and their familes for the sacrifices they have bravely made for our country, we honor them and their memory.

Honoring memories of those who have gone over the rainbow before us is a very healing and loving way to connect to those we love and miss... both the 2 and 4 footed souls that have graced our lives.

I imagine everyone over the rainbow in heaven has beautiful blue wings just like the blue butterflies that we see floating, dancing and twirling through the warm breezes on bright summer days!

I asked my momma how we could celebrate Memorial Day and she had the idea to make a Butterfly Pug Doll! :)

She searched on Etsy for a pattern and adapted this wonderful Francisca Doll she found!

I just love how it turned out!

How FUN to combine the magic of Blue Butterflies and Pugs together!

What a special combination!

Today, I will play and enjoy our family day together and then dream of blue butterflies!

How did you spend your Memorial Day?

Please leave me a note and tell me all about it!

I cannot wait to hear!

Did you write up a pattern for the pug doll? I have to make this! I have a pug named Baron and I just love that doll. If so, will you post it on your blog? If you do have the pattern can you email it to me? vrehrman@cfl.rr.com. Give Archie a big kiss from us. My pug's name is Baron. We say hello!

Hi Valerie

Thank you for your nice comment and question.

I made the pug doll and blue wings from this pattern...
http://www.etsy.com/listing/47546411/crochet-pattern-francisca-dressed-as-a

To make the pug, I just made the girl doll without the hood all in fawn yarn and added my own made up ears, muzzle and tail that I made up as I went along forming the shapes.
