The South Pole!!!!!

I am so proud of my sister! Her art is literally sitting on one of the most remote and least travelled to destinations on our planet, The South Pole! How amazing is that?

Here is the story of how this happened...

Melanie's good friend Talie is on an amazing adventure at McMurdo Station in Antartica.

Melanie made Talie a wonderful vintage fabric wreath ornament and included it in a care package she sent to her back in August. (It takes a long time to get a package to the Antartic!)

Talie may have an opportunity to visit the newest South Pole Station on her adventure. She sent Melanie's ornament and a stuffed penguin with the management team that went to scope out the project she would be working on.

Well, the wreath and the penguin made it to the South Pole which is marked by a metal ball that the world recently saw Ann Curry of the Today show, briskly dance around on her visit earlier this year. See the video.
