Fred's Model Train - The Waterfall

I am so excited to show you the waterfall Fred made for his mountain!

It is made out of a resin that you spread out, add some texture to and then let dry. After a few hours, you peel it up and stick it on!

Look how wonderful it is!

You can almost hear the water flow! :)

He is going to make a lake at the bottom, and we will have little people swimming in it soon!
Beside working on his train, Fred's other favorite hobby is to work in his garden.

Here are his first tomatoes...

and teeny tiny carrots!

They were delicious!

I shared a little bit with the pug because tomatoes and carrots are two of his favorite things. So much so in fact, that we had to build a fence around the garden area to keep him out.
Emmitt was so mad when we did that! He used to love to go out and "hunt" for vegetables. Now he goes out and stares at the wooden fence.

I have a funny story about the day we put it in...

Right after the workmen left, Emmitt went out to "hunt" and saw the fence, well, I'll tell ya what, he ran in the house at full speed, burst through his doggy door and stared at us with that death look that teenagers can give you. Fred and I just burst out laughing. Poor puggy. He was so mad, but so cute! He really is an excellent communicator! We got chewed out I tell ya!

No worries though... I always share mine with him!

We are going to hang around and do fun things around the house this holiday weekend. What do you have planned? Please leave a comment and let us know. We would love to hear all about it!

What an amazing job on that waterfall! Your railroad is so fantastic!

You've got me drooling, looking at those tomatoes! I've been craving some good homegrown, fresh tomatoes...the store ones are so bland! Not having running water this past 9 months (since Jan.) didn't let me grown anything this year :( OC's Mom

Love that waterfall M. He's doing a fantastic job on the train and garden. I can see why Emmitt was upset. I'd love to get my teeth in those veggies.

Cool waterfall! Beautiful tomatoes too...and the teeny tiny carrots are adorable. Maisie doesn't have as healthy an appetite as Emmitt...she prefers cheese over vegetables!

Beautiful construction of the waterfall!

I wonder if garden-raiding is a pug thing? I was at my parents' house and we were chatting by their garden, and their little fawn boy Benny wandered into the plants and began going from brocolli plant to brocolli plant, looking for florets! When he found some that hadn't been picked, he carefully gnawed them off the stems like they were candy, lol. Mom reports that he also ate half of their Kale plant!

My greyhounds wouldn't eat vegetables for anything, lol!

ohhh that is so funny about the mad-face. Once we gave Ajax a bath and he went outside and rolled around in the loose grass came right back inside covered with it looked at Dan with this pleased funny face like he was playing a joke on him. Dan almost got mad at him until I pointed out the smile on the boy's face....he was indeed playing a joke. Some dogs have a sense of humor and yes do communicate their anger or joy with their eyes and facial expressions.

Poor Emmitt. Your words are so descriptive, it's as if I was watching a movie. Great writing.

Nice waterfall! You could plant your miniature carrots at the bottom of your mountain. ;-D

Have a great weekend!

Hi Melissa, Emmitt and Fred.
The mountain Fred built is AWSOME and the Waterfall is beautiful. We can hear the water roaring from that waterfall so clearly. The mist is getting on our face!
That lools like the real thing. Can't wait to see more!
The tomatoes are beautiful and precious little teeny tiny carrots. Too sweet to eat! We had a bean that was 14 inches long! YUP.
Have a happy weekend. I start mine out by going to the dr today @345pm! Yuck

THe waterfall is awesome. Love the story about Emmitt, would like to hear his side of it sometime. This weekend we are going to the fireworks show down on the river in Cincinnati. We get to go on a boat and watch the fireworks. I'm also going to clean and relax before my big trip to Canada.

Melissa, I love the train set but your story about Emmitt was hysterical. What a dog. Our little Shih Tzu Missy is also very talkative and we think there is a little person locked up inside of her, maybe inside of Emmitt too. Love, Jeanne
Have a great weekend
