My Monday Morning Muse ~ Archie

Happy Monday everyone!

Sometimes changing one small thing from your daily routine can make your whole day feel new and inspiring.

So when I got up to my office this early morning I decided to start my day in a different way.

Instead of getting right to work by turning on my computer like I always do... I grabbed a pen and a piece of paper and

did a quick sketch of my favorite thing in the world...

My pug ~ Archie!

Obviously as you can see from his pose, he was not quite ready to wake up this morning! 

I took advantage of this quiet moment of him curled up in his favorite chair waiting for the sun to rise. :)

I used a pen instead of a pencil so that this exercise would be fun, freeing and fast as I could not erase my lines.

When having FUN is your intent there is no room to be fussy! :)

I find that the option to erase will actually make your drawing less appealing to you afterwards as you're exhausted from trying to be perfect!

I gave myself 15 minutes to sketch him and 20 minutes to color him in using photoshop elements.

Ta Da!

This is my final piece that brought a huge smile to my face when I was done.

Whenever I finish creating something, whether it is a drawing, painting or fiber creation, I always take a moment to appreciate it and the inspiration and energy it took to make it. :)

It is like it just appears and I say... where did that come from?

Whose hands made this? :)

That is the magic of the life-force that we all have, focus and share everyday.

You inspire me everyday to jump out of bed with a smile.

Friday Funnies ~ Its a Bird... Its a Plane...Its Coming in for a Landing!

Happy Friday everyone!

I am spending the afternoon sitting on the lounge chair and watching the world go by!

Wow!

People are so busy!

Every 5 minutes a car whizzes past our house on their way somewhere! 

It is like watching a movie!

I know!

Maybe if I close my eyes it will feel less busy!

OK!

I am all ready to relax from the week and start my weekend!

I even have my trusty chew stick to keep me company!

*BUZZZZZZZZZZZ  ~ HUMMMMMMMM ~ ZOOOOOOOM!*

Oh my gosh!

Something just dive bombed my head!

Was it a plane?

I had better open my eyes and see!

* Blink Blink *

I cannot believe my eyes!

That is the tiniest plane I have ever seen!

Wait a minute...

That is not a plane!

It is a tiny bird!

Oh Look!

He is doing my favorite thing...

Eating!

Wow!

He can even back up and...

hover!

Even though his wings are moving very fast.... he looks like he is standing still!

That is truly magical!

Toasty Thursday ~ We are ready for some Football!

Happy Thursday everyone!

One of the things we love about Fall is that Football Season is here!

Fred & I are having FUN watching the games and playing Fantasy Football again this year!

It looks like Daisy in IL is rooting for her Chicago Bears to win this week in her new Barkclava Dog Hat!

While Miss China in MA is tailgating in comfort on her new dog bed.

She is waiting for her big bowl of chips and dip to be served while the hamburgers are on the grill!

During all of the football games this weekend I will be happily making dog sweater vests for all of you to enjoy!

We will be happy to make any colors you like including your favorite teams!

Fun Batik T-Shirt ~ My Backyard Owls

Happy Monday everyone!

Archie and I had so much FUN enjoying our warm weekend in the backyard!

This was probably the last few days of 90+ temps we will see in Boulder for awhile so we welcomed in the cooler breezes with this whimsical batik t-shirt we just made!

I made it the same way I did for my batik pillows but with a piece of cardboard stuck into the shirt to protect the front and back from bleeding on to each other as I painted them with the fabric dyes.

I also combined iron on owl stencils and freehand drawing in this design by ironing on the owls from Aunt Martha's iron on patterns and then connecting them into a scene by drawing a tree around them to perch on. :)

I love how both the front and the back turned out!

...and after it was all done, R-Chee and I decided we needed to updo another project we had done but never wore!

I pulled out a pair of crochet socks I made a few years ago that we too thick to wear with shoes, but too slippery on the hardwood floors to wear as slippers and added crocheted soles to them to make them into slipper socks!

I laughed when I put them on while wearing my new shirt today because the two match perfectly! :)

Now I have 2 new Fall creations ready to enjoy this Fall to wear on my back and my feet!

Friday Funnies ~ Archie put his butt in this Time!

Hi Everyone!

Happy Friday!

It is me...

R-Chee!

I have a funny story for you today!

It all started when I saw Gilbert back his butt into my momma's sleeve for a nap!

He was so comfy in fact that he woke up with bed head! :)

I decided I wanted to find a place I could do that too without getting stuck like Winnie The Pooh in the Honey Jar as my butt has a curly tail that will get creased!

So I sat my butt down in a safe place and thunk and thunk and thunk until I got a brilliant idea!

I squished my fiber filled mini me's butt into a comfy place to rest!

This way I could snuggle in and never wrinkle my tail or get stuck!

Now that is really using my butt to solve a sticky situation!

Brilliant! :)

Ha!

Archie and I are so excited to show you the NEW Dog Sweater Vests we have created for you to enjoy!

This is our favorite time of year as the local farms & vegetable gardens are abundant with all of the hard work of the Spring and Summer love that was put into making yummy vegetables to harvest and enjoy!

Happy Labor Day Everyone!

Happy Labor Day everyone!

It is me...

R-Chee!

I am here with my family counting the first signs of Fall that we see today!

I found yellow leaves falling from the trees!

I have 16 pug toes so I can count up to 16!

Now I just need momma to teach me how to add up all my little piles of leaves and multiply them by 16!

Luckily today is a holiday so I do not have to learn anything today! :)

My corgi cousin, Moe, found lots of tall grasses ready to welcome in the cool breezes of Fall today on his hike with his mom, Auntie Melanie!

My bird brother, Gilbert found momma's sleeve to curl up in to practice snuggling in for Fall

...and

Cousin Ollie is spending the day waiting for the snow to start falling in the mountains so that the skiing can begin!

I think he may have to wait a few more weeks for that, but it is coming soon!
