Pug Cave Update ~ Crochet Granny Circle Window Treatments

Happy Wednesday everyone!

R-Chee and I are so excited to show you a latest project!

We have been working on making some window treatments for his Pug Cave in the basement!

We just finished and hung them and we could not be happier with how they turned out!

All I did was make 56 granny circles using this free pattern from the owl's body and sewed them into some IKEA Tie Racks like the ones I used last year to make the window treatments with bobbles for my bathroom.

It was so easy and FUN to make this project!

First...

I made 56 granny circles to fill 2 panels.

Tied the circles into the panels at 4 points of each opening and then wove in the ends to the back.

R-Chee cannot wait for me to complete the finishing work so we can hang them.

Ta Da!

Finally, I hung the crochet pot holder I made last Fall in the center to fill in where the two panels did not touch.

I just LOVE how it turned out!

R-Chee and I would love to have you come and visit!

He has a seat all ready for you!

Yipppeeee!

Next we will continue to work on the retro mushroom rug hooking for the wall and some cute little crochet projects with free patterns I found online.

I will be able to show you them in the coming weeks!

What FUN projects indoors & out do you have planned for Spring?

Please leave us a note and let us know!

I cannot wait to hear all about them!

Happy 12th Hatchday Gilbert! ~ A Fiber Art Celebration!

Happy Monday everyone!

Today is my pacific parrotlet, Gilbert, 12th Hatchday!

Happy Hatchday little birdie!

Here he is swinging in his snuggle tent!

He is such a sweet boy!

He LOVES to cuddle!

To celebrate his special day, I crocheted a parrotlet doll in a snuggle tent to hang over my favorite chair that I crochet in in the evenings!

It was so FUN to make!

Melanie found this wonderful free parrotlet pattern that I changed just a little bit and adapted to "snap" onto a little house I made for him!

Ta Da!

Here he is when he is not in his hut!

I sewed a snap onto his bottom and the perch so that I can easily take him out & hold him, just like the real Gilbert!

I love how his orange pom pom feet complete the border around his hut when I snap him into place.

It was a last minute idea I had when I was putting on his final touches.

Sometimes the best part of a project is just not a planned element from the start!

I think that is the most exciting thing about creating art...

You just never know what will evolve and appear until you are done! :)

Melanie surprised me with her very own parrotlet doll!

I cannot believe she gave this to me!

I adore it!

...and she made one of her birdie, Ollie, too!

Happy Hatchday Gilbert!

We LOVE You!

To celebrate, I made him a batch of birdie berry quinoa cakes today!

They are super yummy and he gobbles them right up.

Here is the recipe for you to enjoy too!

They are 100% human ingredients so you can add your breakfast menu too!

Berry Quinoa Cakes

1 cup cooked quinoa
3 eggs
a splash of milk
a spoonful of greek yogurt
a handful of your favorite fresh or frozen berries

Mix all of the ingredients together and pour into greased mini muffin tins.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned on top and set.

Makes about 12 mini cakes

Enjoy!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Friday Funnies ~ Do You Smell Something?

Happy Friday everyone!

It is me...
R-Chee!

I cannot believe it is Friday already!

We had a Super Spring weather event happen this week here in Boulder, CO!

It was 70 degrees and sunny on Monday and 7 degrees with 6" of snow fall on Tuesday!

The warm up started again on Wed. with only a high of 25 degrees, but by today we are back to close to 60!

What a wild weather week, but we never missed a walk!

I like walking in the snow, but the trouble is you can never see where you are stepping.

I think this is my problem today...

Ummm...

I seem to be wafting...

Do you smell something funny?

Sniff ... Sniff *

Oh NO!

It is me!

Yikes!

I have really stepped in it this time!

Uh Oh!

I think a BATH is coming today!

Bummer!

I was just getting to my best balance of odor vs. cleanliness.

Shoot... I tipped the scales with one miss step!

C'est La Vie!

I'll just grab my rubber duckie and blow some bubbles in my bath today!

What do you have planned this weekend?

Please leave me a note and let me know!

I cannot wait to hear all about it!

The Ohio Buckeye Sweater Vests! ~ Meet Walter & Beulah

Happy Thursday everyone!

R-Chee & I have another FUN Custom Sweater Vest order that we just completed for our friends Walter and Beulah in Ohio!

Their creative and wonderful mom, Meloni asked for me to create an Ohio State Buckeyes inspired vest for each of them.

I LOVE the design she asked me to create with the OSU colors in reverse order, alternating rows of bobbles on the back and the O monogram centered on the chest on the front.

Walter and Beulah look fabulous!
