Crochet Granny Circles ~ 2nd Change Purse Project

Happy Monday Everyone!

R-Chee feels like he is running in circles after we made this cute little change purse this weekend.

He is feeling happily dizzy just like when he does when playing his favorite game...

He loves to spin and spin and try and catch it! :)

This is my second change purse project and it was just as FUN to do as the 1st one I showed you last week. 

I made a Granny Circle for this one using this free pattern for a Granny Owl Ornament but I did not make the head. :)

I made two different color combos  using some scrap wool yarn from my stash for the front and back and lined it with a coordinating cotton fabric.

I purchased the metal change purse frame on etsy from MeiMeiWhiteCross .

It was super easy to hand sew it onto the frame to complete the project. :)

Ta Da!

I just love how it turned out!

That was FUN!

In fact, it was so much FUN that I am working on 56 more circles to make into a window treatment for the Pug Cave for Archie!

It will take me a few weeks to complete so stay tuned for photos soon!

2013 Paws For Charity Art Book Project

 

Happy Thursday everyone!

  

I am sooooo excited to announce that the 2013 Paws for Charity Art Book is now available!

The 2013 Paws For Charity Art Book contains images of dogs and cats submitted by 90 artists and photographers (professional and amateur) in 5 countries.

Both the front and back covers capture the spirit of the Project beautifully!  Read more about the images and the artists on the Paws for Charity blog.

All funds raised from book sales are donated to Sheltering Helpless Animals in Distress (www.SHAID.ca), an animal shelter in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada.

 

R-Chee & I are honored to have two of our images included this year, Pretty in Pink & Pug Bliss - (Pug designs A83 & A81) on page 71.

 

To celebrate the book's release, I have set up a special listing in my Pug Notes' Etsy Shop featuring these 2 images in a pack of 10 cards with Free shipping. :)

I am sooooo excited!

Melanie has made a whole new kind of bear for us to enjoy!

They are called Rolly Polly Bears!

They are handmade with felt & jingle bells!

They come in all sorts of color combos!

Almost all of them sold immediately from her shop and now she is busy making lots more!

Crochet Bobble Change Purse - Crochet + Sewing Project

Happy Monday everyone!

I had so much FUN this weekend crocheting this cute little change purse!

We had a snow storm on Saturday that was the perfect day to make a fast & fun fiber treasure!

I just love how change purses with a frame look when I see them in the stores so I thought I would try to make my own!

I found this wonderful Free Pattern for a Bobble Owl Change Purse and made it without a face! :)

I got to use some of my favorite Lion Brand Amazing Yarn and I even lined it with some scrap fabric from my stash.

Ta Da!

I just love how it turned out!

I think it is too pretty to stuff in my purse with heavy coins in it so I will use it to carry my tea stash with me!

Friday Funnies ~ Springing Into Spring in Colorado

Happy Friday everyone!

WoW!

Springtime in CO is CraZy FUN!

You never know what each day will bring!

Yesterday it was Sunny and 60 degrees!

I even spotted my very first spring time robin off of our apple tree!

But this morning I woke up to this...

An awesome white out blizzard!

We are supposed to get 10" of snow by tomorrow evening!

Yippeeeee!

We are at 4" already and counting!

I bet my robin friend will come and get the seed today!

When the snow stops my pawrents said they will take me on a walk like we did last weekend!

I will get to "color" all of the snow as yellow as I can!

... and play in the snow with my friends!

Tee Hee!

This little guy looks like the tin pug from the Wizard of OZ. :)

Yippppeeee!

What a FUN weekend this will be!

Redos & Reuses ~ FUN Crochet and Sewing Creations!

Hi Everyone!

Happy Thursday!

Spring has sprung in my studio as I am creating crochet flowers and sewing fabric trash bags for cleaning up scraps as I work. :)

Several years ago I made Melanie a wool poncho and I asked her if I could give it a makeover for Spring!

She loves wildflowers so I made her these pretty lupine colored flowers to add a smile to her day!

I just love how it turned out!

For Valentine's Day, Melanie got me some wonderful ribbon with pugs on it!

I found the perfect project to use some of it today!

I needed a hanging basket to catch scraps of fabric, thread and yarn as I work so I pulled out a bread sack I found at Ikea the last time I was there and sewed two strands of ribbon to it with a weighted lavender and rice stuffed fabric sac to hang from any work table.

What a FUN & FUNctional project that worked up in just a few minutes.

I was so happy to be able to reuse my IKEA Bread Bag for this project because it is covered in neat sketches of tea cups in my favorite mustard color that I can now enjoy all of the time!

New Blobs ~ Seeing Silly Sea Creatures!

Hi Everyone!

It is a whimsical Wednesday here! :)

R-Chee & I are seeing sea creatures in our blob book and coloring them in today!

How FUN!

We pulled out all of our colored pencils and markers and just let GO!

It is a super FUN & Fast way to relax and feel good anytime during your day!

You do not even have to create a whole page at once!

You can just do this for 2 minutes a day and I promise it will make you smile!

New ideas and FUN things will continue to show up in your day for you to appreciate and enjoy!

Carla Sonheim is an amazing teacher and helped me to create my blog book in a workshop she taught for Art Camp for Women.

Just in case you cannot get to one of her workshops, she has generously created FREE tutorials & blob booklets that you can download, save and print to create smiles & magic for yourself and others too!

I have downloaded the first of 4 FREE issues that she will share with us in 2013.

She makes it so easy for us to play & learn something new everyday!
