Art Camp For Women Retreat 2012 ~ Melanie's Books!

 

 

Happy Thursday Everyone!

 

I saved the best post for last!

 

I am so excited to show you the amazing art Melanie created at our art retreat given by Art Camp for Women taught by Carla Sonheim. :)

 

Each morning we started our day with fun & quick drawing exercises to get us warmed up!

 

We used both ink

 

and

 

charcoal!

 

I just LOVE everything Melanie created!

 

Just look at her watercolor blob painting book!

 

It is so amazing!

 

Every time I looked over at her work, I just got more and more inspired to create something 1/2 as special in my book!

 

On the second & final day of the workshop, we created a second postcard book.

 

All we did to make it was take 3 postcards in different sizes, apply a coat of gesso on both sides of each card and a wash of watercolor paint on top of that to create on.

 

Melanie's 3 pages ingeniusly turn from a bear, into a fish and then into a magical gnome!

Simply magical!
