Doodle Design Class - Week 2

This week in the doodle design class, our lesson was to take an image scanned into the computer and use it in our doodle to embroider. I chose to make a line drawing out of a photo of Emmitt and doodle around him. The doodle turned into a shower of hearts above him.
I really like how it turned out. I put a red border around it and already quilted fabric on the back. I thought the rainbow was perfect for the design.

(the back)

Here it is in my office keeping me company.

This is the original photo of Emmitt that inspired me. :)

Emmitt is such a wonderful gift in my life. I am so lucky to have him!

Melissa, this is really cute and unique! Your office is so cheerful. Just look at all those smiling Emmitt faces in your work! Howie wonders if he has any birthday cake left, and, if so, could he mail some to Howie. I'm sure he has the address by now, considering all the previous requests for food Howie has sent your way. ; )

that line drawing turned out so vintage looking. It is wonderfully done, I really love it! Makes me want to try embroidery in more of a free for all way!

Great work as always. Just one question ... how do you create and collect soooo much art and yet your home and office always looks so orderly. You must rotate your collection?

I would have to say that you are lucky to have each other. And how cool to be the model and inspiration behind so many decorative (and functional) creative pieces. Thanks for sharing.

This is such a cool project! It would be something great to do for Waldo, since he is so unusually colored that I can't find anything that looks like him.

Emmitt, you're so cute!
