Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I had so much fun today because I got to organize stuff for the trip tomorrow, clean, and crochet a parakeet! I know... it's weird, organizing, cleaning and crafting are my favorite things to do.

I bought this pattern from a very talented Australian artist, Crochetroo on Etsy a few months ago. I have been wanting to make this little parakeet for months and had not given myself the time until today. I have all of my parakeet yarn ready to take to CA to make more! It was so easy and fun to follow her pattern.

Green and yellow parakeets hold a special place in mine and Melanie's hearts. Our first pet ever, when we were 10, was a parakeet named Sweetie. He was a very special bird who brought alot of joy to us.

I am going to make Melanie one while on vacation. I am very excited to do it!

Here is a pictue of Sweetie. I cannot believe this photo was taken about 30 years ago!
He was a very special bird.

One of my roomies in college had a parakeet. Brings back memories...
You are right about not knowing how to sew. You cracked me up! I was so happy with my crooked little curtain, you have no idea! Thanks for the heart!

I can't believe you did all that today...plus crochet a parakeet...that is amazing..

I had a green and yello parakeet when I was growing up...we had that bird for so many years...my Mom used to walk with her sitting on her shoulder outside...Nikki was her name...she was very special to our whole family...

Have a wonderful vacation...

That is a great parakeet, very colorful. We hope you have a great vacation. You have made our memere very happy. She emailed mom and said she had a new friend, (it was you) and it was all because of mom). So that made mom happpy.
Mom got my coat at Petco about 2-3 years ago. Must be 2 as I would have been too small 3 yrs ago.
