Fish to Sushi ~ A Transformable Toy! Free Pattern

Happy Monday everyone!

I just found the neatest FREE pattern for a transformable crochet toy!

It is a fish that also folds up into itelf to look like sushi!

Here is the fish and stuffed inside him is the sushi rice box.

He dives into it when you pull it out and his tail sticks out to look like sushi!

Isn't that FUN?

He is so cute both ways and so fast to make that I made another one so I could display him both ways at the same time! :)

Friday Funnies ~ Archie's Pow Wow with the Alpacas

Happy Friday everyone!
It is me...
Archie!

I just had a very exciting adventure that I cannot wait to share with you!

I have been asking my momma where yarn comes from so she took me on a field trip to Estes Park, CO for their annual Wool Market this year!

I got to sit down with the Alpacas and ask them myself!

They were very friendly and welcomed me with big puggy smiles!

I felt right at home with them!

They told me that the wool is actually made from their coats that they grow and wear in the Winter to stay warm, and then their owners shave in the Spring & Summer to help them stay cool.

The wool yarn is made from the hair they shave off!

The groomers do this to all kinds of fuzzy animals to make lots of different kinds of fibers for people to weave, felt, crochet and knit with!

Here are some of the other types of animals who I met that get haircuts to make pretty fiber for us to play with...

Sheep

Goats

... and Llamas!

We had a magical day up in Estes Park!

The weather was perfect and there was so much for us to see and do!

People were shopping, eating, smiling and learning all about herding doggies and the wooly animals they help protect & take care of.

It turns out that my Corgi Cousin, Moe, is a herding dog!

Here was bred for a very important job and is super smart and busy!

I asked my momma if I was bred to do a cetain job that was important too...

She said Oh YES R-Chee!

Puggies were created as Companion doggies to keep their pawrents company and make them smile and laugh all the time!

We make people happy!

LOVE my job and see...

I think I am pretty good at it too!

Tee Hee!

What is your favorite thing to do?

Please leave me a note and let me know!

I cannot wait to hear all about it!

Crochet Owl Pillow #2

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I am so excited to show you the new owl pillow I just finished.

I made the large owl pillow a few weeks ago and I just love how it turned out so I also had to make the medium sized owl for a smaller space that was just "hooting" for an owl pillow to fill it up!

I purchased the pattern on etsy in a wonderful & inspiring shop called ATERGcrochet.

I had so much FUN picking out the colors and watching it spring to life.

Just like its big brother, I added some of my own details like the sleepy eyes on one side and her awake eyes on the other.  I also added wings and feet to my pillow for FUN!

Here is the first circle completed ...

... and here it is getting a hug from Archie!

He is the best helper!

Tee Hee!

It looks like I made him work a little too hard today!

Here it is with the head crocheted on top of  each side of the front and back circles, sew together and stuffed with the pillow insert I made from fabric and polyfil.

...now he has toes!

...and wings!

Ta Da!

The awake owl side!

Good Morning!

The sleepy owl side!

Nitey Nite!

The place I put him is extra FUN because I get to see both faces depending where i am standing in the room!

The awake owl side is perched facing the windows so he can see out!

... and the sleepy owl is resting on the couch across from the wonderful pillow I already had!

Now my couch is completely filled up!

I think it looks great!

Fred loves it too but made the point that it is like every couch and chair in our house...

Very pretty, but there is no room to sit!

Ha! Ha!

Luckily I fill the space up with fiber art so they are easy to move!

I am glad Fred loves me and the art I make and collect!

Ha!

Happy Monday everyone!

Remember when I left you last Friday I told you my momma had a surprise coming to visit me?

Well... I did not have to wait too long for the doorbell to ring!

I answered the door and guess who it was?

Apollo, Athena and their pawrents, Jami and Sean from Indiana!

They were in Colorado on a family vacation and generously made a detour to come over and play with us!

Here I amd saying hello to Athena!

What a cutie patootie!

I LOVE her pink polka dot dress!

Apollo had his harness on already so we put on our blue and pink harnesses and get ready to play!

They had fun exploring the back yard with me...

and playing chase!

We had so much FUN!

... and the pawrents had FUN watching us play!

Momma and Dad were impressed on what a good host I was!

My Dad captured all of these wonderful photos to share with you!
