Piano Hinge Journal - Week 5

I just loved making this journal! It is a piano hinge structure. I used pencils to bind it.
I stamped each inside page with one of my handcarved stamps and decorated the front and back with travel stamp themed paper and small prints of some of my pug paintings.
I love how the book opens and how each stamp is showcased.
The inside paper is from a pad of writing paper that I bought at Warwick's when I was in La Jolla this summer. It is always fun to use things from trips and it worked perfectly with the theme of this book.
Our new class starts on Friday so I will have another journal to show you again next week!

Here is a recap of all the journals I made in Sue's class this month...

Which one is your favorite? Please leave a comment and let me know! :)

I loved the pocket journal, but that may be just because I loved that fabric so much. This one today is really original.

Your journals are so pretty!!! And I see a pic of my Pugsley there, too! hahaha

I love your stamps - do you sell those?

Give that cute Emmitt a BIG SQUEEZE from Pugsley and me!

Hi Melissa!
I am loving your journals! I can't decide whether I like the trifold or the pocket journal better. I really love the fabric covers. I am thinking of attempting to make one myself, but should probably take a class since I am a total klutz and not super creative!

Melissa, your hand-carved stamps are exceptional. I really love them. I have to ask, have you ever done woodblock or linocut? Something makes me think you would do amazing things with techniques like that, too!

It's difficult to choose, Melissa! They're all great. I like your coptic journal, but I also like this one too. Your hand-carved stamped images are beautiful! I received an original stamped card along with a pretty quiltie in the mail today. Thanks for remembering, Melissa.

Melissa,
Wow, you are really rockin with these journals! I am in LOVE with your carved stamps of Emmitt. I like to carve my own stamps as well, but I have never tried doing a dog portrait. They are really wonderful.
