Journal Making Class - Week 2

Melanie and I had the best time making coptic bound journals for our online class this week.

We used decorative paper instead of fabric to create the covers.
Here is Melanie's journal. She used this cool wood grain paper for the covers.

and recycled topo maps to cover the 3 groups of paper that form the book (or signatures).

see the coptic braid binding? This is the binding we used on our wooden books this summer.

Here is my Journal...

I used circle design paper for the covers and my pug gift wrap for the signature covers. :)

I cannot wait to see what journals we make next week!

Melissa, these journals are so wonderful! I love the paper you and your sister used, the maps, the pug paper - everything!!! So cool. I think I will have to take this online class, too, so I can improve upon my journals. Awesome!

Those are awesome journals. Mom can't wait to get her sewing room done so she can be creative in it. Your journals are making her creative juices go in overdrive.
