Pugs and Candy!

Our new 5 week fabric journal class has begun and this week my theme is ... Pugs!
I used a fun dog print with a pug that landed on the front. How lucky for me!
I lined it with a dog bone fabric and added a polka dot pocket which matched the cover pages I chose for my 3 books of paper. I did not plan that, but I really like how it turned out. :)
Then for fun, I made two of my pug dolls and velcroed them to the inside back cover to keep me company while I journal. :)

Here is the back showing all of the dogs.

and here are the dolls sitting on top of the world!

Melanie made a candy themed book!

Look how fun and festive!

Here is a detail of one of her fabric flowers she makes that are available in her etsy shop.

I love the striped and festive fabrics and papers she chose!

I cannot wait to see what our second lesson will be!

I am so excited that today is election day!

Emmitt wishes he could vote too, but I explained to him that he is too young. :)

What an exciting day! Change is in the air!

Those are wonderful. I love the little velcro puggies - they can go anywhere! I would attach one to my purse I think...hmm...

Hi Melissa,

Wow, these journals are great. Good fabric choices on both yours and Melanie's. I like the style of these as well. I agree with you - What an exciting day it is today! Change in in the air - well, put. Have a ?...was this journal hard to make? How much time did it take?

Have a fun Voting Day!

We love both the journals. The pugs velcroed on the back page is an awesome idea. Mom loves it. They are both so pretty, mom is glad she doesn't have to choose.

I had a comment from the shop owner that makes the lovely books I posted about. She has blog too, it's all about hand bound books and journals!
