Melanie's Journal - Week 1

I love that Melanie and I can take this class together. We get our assignments emailed to us every Friday. It is a PDF file that we can save and print and work on during the week on our own time. Here is Melanie's wonderful journal. I love the edging she used. She showed it to me in person today and all I could do was say WOW!

Here is her description of it that she posted for the class to know what she used for her materials...

"I used fabric that i purchased years ago in a favorite quilt store in Leadville, CO. The outside is a bavarian style fabric with yellow flower fabric inside. I tried a red binding fabric on the edges and pasted a bear christmas card on the first page of the first signature that i bought back in 1998 because itwas cute. Finished with a piece of ribbon and heart shaped button that wraps around the journal and snaps in the back. I'm happy with how my first journal came out :) Melanie"

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
I think Melanie and I will be sewing this weekend using some of that cool fabric we just bought for lesson 2!

this is beautiful, Melissa - your sister is just as talented as you are! I love seeing the work you guys do - my grandmother was always creating beautiful fabric art and it is like seeing her work again.
with hugs!
