Friday Fun!

Baby Emmitt Circa 1996
Emmitt and I have been tagged by Salinger for the Adore Le Pug meme.

We get to answer these questions and pass on the fun!
1) How did you first learn about Pugs?

It was 1996, and I just opened my mobile frame shop. I was at a customer's house and what bounced in to the room, but 2 roly poly pugs. they were hyper and smiling and ran right over to me and gave me lots of hugs and kisses. I brought Fred over the next day to meet them.

2) What made you get a Pug?

After that, we did our research and learned all about pugs. Then, it was just a matter of finding one! The rest is history!

3) Most memorable moment with your Pug (s).
That is a hard one. I guess I will always remember the day we had Emmitt in obedience class. Being in Boulder, CO, Emmitt was really the tinest thing in class. He was surrounded by lots of big playful labs.
The teacher had them all line up at the end of a really long room. all the people stood on the other end and the dogs were on a wait until they were released to come to us.
well, one of the big labs made a run for it and started a stampede before they were supposed to move. when all the dust settled. only one little figure stood across the room, just blinking.
it was my emmitt, waiting to be released for his cheerio. oy! fred and i laughed so hard we nearly pee'd our pants. :)
what a good puggy. he got a whole bunch of cheerios for that one!
4) What is the most important thing Pugs (or dogs) have taught you?

Emmitt has taught me so much, but the one thing he has really showed me over the years is how to stay in the moment and to be happy there. It is a great feeling place, because everything is always well and there are no worries right in that moment.
5) Best Thing You Ever Did For Your Pug….aside from loving them, keeping them healthy & happy, and giving them a great life.
I think that would be to listen to what he was telling us. I know that sounds weird, but Emmitt is a very good communicator. he has lots of important things on his mind, and if you let him, he will tell you. i think all creatures on the planet want to feel heard and appreciated. over the years i think i have tuned into emmitt's channel to be able to hear him. i think he likes that and makes him a happy pug.
6) Post your answers on why you “Adore Le Pug” on your blog and link to the blog who tagged you (or their blog post).
7) Tag 5 or more other bloggers.
We tag... clover, pugsley, roxy, howie and frances
Have a great weekend everyone!

That's so funny that he was waiting for that cheetio! I think I would have made a run for my mommy! I think mommy wishes she could have been a fly on the wall to see that!

I agree with you, I think dogs are incredible communicators! Especially pugs...as I've said before, I have had boston terriers, and they have similar little..er I should say, BIG personalities!! They always let you know what is on their mind!

what a great entry. I loved your answers. I especially like what you said about being in the moment. In the present there are no worries. I work on that every day.

Pugs must have great personalities. My austrialian shepherd just learned to smile, it cracks me up!
