Happy Monday everyone!
I am so excited to show you the new yarn painting I just finished!
I have titled it Pug on a Red Rug, and I had so much FUN making it!
I took lots of photos while I worked to show you the process of him popping to life from a photo to a yarn painting.
All you need is a drawing or photo that you would like to fill in with yarn.
It can be an abstract, landscape or figure... whatever you enjoy most!
I love yarn painting.
It is FUN, relaxing and there is not a right or wrong way to work. :)
You will find little tricks that you like as you go.
One thing I like is to plan the shapes I want to fill in so that I can relax into the process easily.
To do this, I always go ahead and place the fine defining lines in before the larger filling in begins to make sure I do not forget to put them in.
Ta Da!
I just love how it turned out!
I have made this image available on note cards and signed prints in my Etsy Shop for you to enjoy.
I love it when friends share their stories and photos of what they are working on.
Please let me know if you make one too!
I would love to see and feature it on the blog too!

Ohhhh, so gorgeous and the expression is priceless!
ReplyDeleteIt was very interesting to see how you do parts with small things like the nails and nose and then fill them in, I was wondering about that.
