Hi Everyone!
I had the most wonderful time in my Photoshop Elements 8 - Part 1 class.
It is a 6 week online class taught by Sara Froehlich at LVS Online Academy.
I first met Sara about 4.5 years ago when I signed up for her classes to learn Photoshop Elements 4.
I just upgraded to version 8 and found a whole bunch of new tools that I could not wait to learn.
I immediately looked to see if Sara has new classes available and she does! Hooray!
What is even more fun this time around is that my husband Fred is taking the classes with me. He is excited to learn the program now that he is learning more about photography and the things he can create with his beautiful photos.
Here are some of my favorite things I created in class for the last 6 weeks...
As you can see above, Photoshop Elements 8 allows you to easily extract parts of your photos out to use in alone or in collages.
I grabbed my crocheted owls out of the photo above and my felted mushroom below and did some fun things them.
I love this composite I made of Emmitt investigating the poppies by selecting him out of one photo and adding him to the second.
Fred took both of these wonderful photos for me. :)
Here is one of Emmitt that I altered by taking the color out of everything except his sweater vest.
One of the many things that I love about Photoshop Elements is that there are about 20 different ways to do the same thing so you can find the ways that you like best and get really great results.

Here are two examples of a quick edit where I saturated the colors in both photos to make them pop a bit more than the originals.

I just love working with photos of the things that bring me so much joy in my life and adding new pizazz to them!
How fun!
I am so happy that in only a few more weeks Part 2 of the class will begin!
I cannot wait!
I promise to show you what I create!

ReplyDeleteMelissa, what a fun class! I had no idea that you could take online classes for that.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are always lovely. I think it's because your subjects are lovely, with or without the editing. :)

Hi Melissa & Emmitt! Do you think you can edit the gimpyness out of my photos? I mean I'm cute and all but I don't want to look ill.
