Hi everyone!
Happy Wednesday!
I am so excited to show you the Cereal Box Book and Paper Dolls I made in Carla Sonheim's Summer Art Camp online class!
I had so much FUN making it and watching it come together!
I had no idea what I would draw or how my creation would turn out until I started gluing all of the elements together!
I just love it!
This is the front cover (above)
and...
This is the back cover of my book!
Here is the view from the top to show you the structure.
...and this is what it looks like open.
The class did not include pages to fill the book, but I gessoed and painted some extra cereal boxes to make pages to fill with art and sew into the binding.
They are not quite done yet, but I will show them to you as soon as I finish them.
I ordered Carla's new book, Drawing & Painting Imaginary Animals.
It will arrive anyday and I plan to fill my book with art I create from her lessons!
Until then, here is her FUN new tutorial she just posted from the book using a few piece of washi making tape and your imagination to create a wonderful whimsical creature!
I cannot wait for my book to arrive!
Now on with the tour...
This is the book open with my pug paper dolls that I made. :)
They will live inside the pockets unless they eventually wind up as elements in the book pages!
I will have to wait and see what happens! :)
I highly recommend Carla's blog, books, online classes and workshops!
Melanie and I are so excited because in addition to taking this class and waiting for the arrival for her book, we will have the opportunity for Carla to sign her book in person for us when we...
