Mother Bear Project ~ The New Pattern!

Happy Monday everyone!

It is me...

Archie!

I am so excited to introduce to you not just one... but TWO new Mother Bears that I helped my momma make to donate to The Mother Bear Project!

Meet Helga and Hans!

They are twins!

However, if you look closely, you will see that they are not identical!

They were and experiment to try the NEW PATTERN The Mother Bear Project just released to crochet teddy bears in the round without seams.

We love the first pattern so much that we thought it would be fun to make both and see how different the teddy bears looked when made in the same yarns.

Helga on the left is the new pattern and Hans on the right is made using the traditional flat pattern.

You can see Helga is a bit shorted and rounder than Hans but just a cute and huggable!

We enjoyed making the new pattern which is a more tradtional way of making a teddy bear in the round and stuffing as you go.

Personally, I love the charm of the original 1950's flat pattern and will continue to make more of those rather than the in the round method.

Either way you choose, the are so fun to make and send to The Mother Bear Project who sends all of the donated teddy bears to Africa for children to LOVE.

You can either knit or crochet your teddy bears using any of their 4 approved patterns!

Archie had so much fun helping me get them ready for their long trip to Africa!

He helped me tie on their name tags

and...

gave them each a kiss!

Hans and Helga are ready for their world wind trip!

Archie and I cannot wait to make lots more teddy bears together in 2012!

What FUN things do you like to make for others to enjoy?

Please tell us all about your favorite recipe, project, Rescue or Charity!

We love to hear all about it!
