Archie's Little Fiber Buddy

Hi everyone!

It is me...

Archie!

I am so excited to show you my new buddy that my momma just crocheted for me to cuddle during storytime!
Meet Spug, my new fiber buddy!

Do you like his name?

I thought it up myself...

He looks alot like a spud and a bit like a pug, so I named him Spug.

Tee hee

He is super soft and tasty too!

The perfect combo!

Thank you momma! What is your favorite toy?

Please leave me a note and let me know what I should ask my mom to get for me next!

She said it has been 15 years since she had a tiny puppy and needs all the suggestions she can get!

Have a super day everyone!

  1. Spug looks great! I love big, soft stuffies myself. And those little hamster toys for kitties where you can pull on a string to make them move/vibrate. Then I hold it in my paws and pull on the string. It's funny when it wriggles.

    Kisses,

p.s. Scarlet is hiding under her hand knit blankets cause it's pouring rain. Thankfully your mommas sweater keep her warm too.

  4. Hi Archie,

Once again you are the cutest. And Spug is also adorable.

My favorite toys (I'm still a year old baby myself) are cat toys too. Hmmmm I have no idea why, maybe because they are smaller? haha

  7. What a fun pal Spug will be!!! Your Mom is so creative. Our Mom says lots of different colors and sizes of balls and then some sturdy chew toys worked best for her with pups.

  9. Hi Archie and Aunty Melissa!!
Okays...all of us'uns aren't toy con-nay-sewers...but we have 3 that are and they will comment.
George: Archie...definently need a lambie...something that is large and made of fleece to suckle on.
Lily: Well, first off that toy with the turtle eggs is right up your alley and mine too. I love all balls that can fit in my mouth and I especially love those that are in the hidden toys (like your turtle) and I like the air kong squeaker balls. When you are 2, the small will fit your mouth'ums...so your 'prolly need the X-small/kitty size for now.
Mimi: Nylabone!! Otherwise any wood object is going to be enticing!!

Well, of course, Flora loves the robin you created, but I won't let her romp with it. ;)
SO, for toys... Anything that is stuffing-less is best for when a Pug gets "puggy", in my opinion!! Flora loves squeaky toys, particularly of the fuzzy Kong Wubba variety. They can be found on Amazon, or probably in many pet stores, and they are super sturdy and yet snuggly. There are both mini and giant versions of them, and Flo gets the mini ones. ;) Butters, our Lab, gets the gigantic ones!
Flora also loves frisbees--yup, just regular old plastic frisbees! She loves to carry them in her mouth, as though she were a large dog. ;)

Aw, Archie, you get cuter every day!!

    Aw that toy is adorable!

Lets see.. Indy loves to chew on nyla bones or her keys, they were great when she was a puppy because it kept her from chewing up my stuff!
Also the little golf ball sized tennis balls that squeak where and are a huge hit! Just small enough to put in their tiny little mouths.

I also got indy a 'smart' toy, the 3 squirrels you stick into a log and then she has to pull them out, i bet you could make a version of that toy easily! Petsmart carries it or others like it - bees in a hive, snakes in a stump, chicks in a barn etc.

  16. I love spug so much!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you know what? Little baby pugs love little fiber buddys like spug, because of their little legs and arms, and ears. Everything little because it fits easy into baby pugs mouths. Have you noticed little Archie loving the little ends? I love them too.
I love the little nose on my owl you made for me. And baby pugs also love little things,, that have BIG EYES.
I do... I know I am not a baby anymore,,, and I love all my toys.. but that is what babys love.
Archie,.. how can you keep getting cuter and cuter? I am happy you do.... and I love to see your toys that your mama makes for you.

  17. Mom has no clue because I only play with toys when Lucky has them. Otherwise kleenex are my best shredding fun.

  18. I can't decide who's cuter- You, or Spug! Haha- No, not really... there's not much cuter out there than a pug baby. ;) You're adorable! And your momma is so talented... I could never crochet something like that.

  19. Spug! That is one adorable name!! Love it.

Little Janie Pug LOVES her Squirrel. This is a stuffie that has NO stuffing/batting. It is a very flat type fabric toy!

She also tends to lean towards toys that have big noses or long tails - thoroughly enjoys chewing on them while she carries them all over the place.

And then of course, her "string-kees"..those are the strings that belong in hoodies. All of our hoodies have no string as we have given them to Janie. She will chew and carry these all over as well and she will even get a drink of water with her string-kee in her mouth! [and don't worry - she is totally supervised while chewing on her string-kees..McKenna wouldn't have it any other way!]

    Have a fun day!
