Here is a funny story...
So, I finished knitting the wristlet I was making last week and quickly realized that the tube was too narrow to comfortably be worn as a wristlet. Note to self... I need to add more stitches on the next one. :)
So what I am I to do with the knitted tube?
Why make a teddy bear ornament of course! :)
Ta da!
How fun! I learned that seeing things in a new way is even more rewarding than sitting down and creating it from the start. There are no mistakes, just happy endings. It is how we choose to look at a situation that makes all the difference in how we feel. Unexpected things are not mistakes... just opportunities for creativity!
I like him even better than the wristlet idea! I think I will make a whole pile of them.
Speaking of knitting and fun... Please tune in tomorrow to see the gift I bought for Emmitt on Etsy. * Warning * You should not be taking a sip of anything while reading the post. Emmitt cannot be held responsible for any coffee or tea shooting out your nose from laughing. :)

ReplyDeleteHmm... I can't wait to see what you got Emmitt!
I love your attitude Melissa (especially when you live somewhere where you need wrist bands under your mittens for additional warmth). You always inspire me!
ReplyDeleteWaaaait a minute.....I think Emmitt needs 2 pair (a quad?) of mittens with all the snow you've had! That tiny wristlet looked like it was Puggy sized!
ReplyDeleteThe ornament is very cute too though! Way to save the day Melissa!!!
Love,
S-Dog
Great art, great attitude :) It's surprising how often the two go hand in hand. (Or maybe not surprising!) I could definitely see a Christmas tree full of these little guys -- and what about as little package decorations, too? It would be part of the gift, ultimately. So cute!
ReplyDeleteSo cute...love that teddy.
ReplyDeleteSo clever of you to be able to see it in a new way. The bear is cute as pie!

What a great way to turn things around...great job! Wow...you should make a tutorial! You are so right that unexpected things are not mistakes...just opportunities for creativity- thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI think wrist bands are an excellent idea.
ReplyDeleteYou can make multiple things out of just one idea. How brilliant is that?
