The Craft Retreat Weekend ~ Tabernash, CO

Hi everyone!
Melanie and I had the best time on our craft retreat this weekend!
We drove through Rocky Mountain National Park to get to Melanie's cabin in Tabernash, CO.

Her little mountain home is so perfect. We spent lots of time crocheting.

I taught Melanie how to make a double crochet stitch so she could learn the granny square pattern.

I cannot believe how fast she picked it up. She was making them in no time flat!

I completed two strips of my second blanket for Knit-A-Square's July Challenge.
I love how they are turning out and will show you both completed blankets hopefully this week!

The second part of our fun getaway was to attend the 2009 Steamboat Balloon Festival and art fair!

We left the house at 5:30 am on sat. for the 1.5 hour drive to see the balloons lift off the field.

I will show you our wonderful day in Steamboat tomorrow and introduce you to a pug named Earl!

  11. What a cute place! It reminds me of my little country house in Peru, but with the difference that I have to travel 5 hours by plane and then drive 3 more hours to get there!

Ah, I love Melanie's little cabin! What a wonderful little retreat!
Also, I voted for your fabric, which is fabulous. And we are SO excited for Emmitt's birthday party - the pugs are saying something about if it's half as good as some party a couple of months ago.....
I dunno, but they seem to think Emmitt is quite the party-pug!

  16. Hi Melissa! I love Melanie's cabin. I think Emmitt should have his birthday party there. It looks nice and cozy, and I think we would all fit inside. Think Melanie would be okay with that?

It looks like you guys had a great time crocheting. The only thing that was missing was Emmitt. Did he stay home and help Dad with the train stuff?
