Emmitt and Moe Sweaters!

Look at these wonderful hand knit sweaters Melanie got for Moe and Emmitt! She got them from an amazing artist on Etsy ... Knitopia.
They are so beautifully made that for a split second, I hestitated to put Emmitt in it as I knew it would never be so perfect again the way my fluff ball sheds.
No worries, I quickly snapped out of it and put him in his new beautiful wool sweater.
Mel's wonderful idea came from a childhood memory of a family friend who loved to knit. She was our first exposure to the fiber arts and used to make us sweaters just like this for us with our names running through them. Unfortunately we do not have any of the original sweaters but Mel made me and herself one too! They are a perfect memory brought back to life! Thank you Melly!

Here is our photo shoot of the gorgeous sweaters. If you would like one for your 2 or 4 footed child, please visit Vanessa at Knitopia. She is amazing!

Happy Corgi! Melly calls this move, "Joy Boy"!

Here is my sweater that I have diplayed in my sewing room so I can see it all the time!

See... there are a few pug hairs but no harm done! HA!

What do your pets wear to keep them warm this winter season? Emmitt and I would love to know. Please email us pictures and we will create a blog post featuring everyone's styles!

How Fun!

  4. Oh! Those sweaters are wonderful! I just started to learn how to knit and the first projects i made were all baby related. Now i am learning how to knit teddy bears, and next a pair of mittens. I have a pattern for a dog sweater and intend to knit one each for Gipetto, Zinnia and Pollyanna asap! I can only hope that someday the sweaters i make will be as beautiful as those!

  5. Melissa this is so cute! I love how snuggly he looks in the pictures. Our dog is a BIG yellow lab and he has never worn any type of clothing... we even tried some cute "hats" around the holidays but he would turn into the unhappiest looking dog with them. Thanks for sharing. =)

  7. Moe and Emmitt look handsome in their handmade sweaters!
I used to have a coat for my former dog, kind of a leather pilot coat. I thought it was cool. My husband didn´t......... But because of the coat I could keep her hair short all winter.
I´m afraid I don´t have any pictures of that.
Love to see what others send you.
    Have a nice sunday!

  10. Gorgeous sweaters, Melissa! Emmitt and Moe look great in them.
Pono is so fuzzy, he definitely does NOT need a sweater to keep him warm. The colder it is outside, the happier Mr. Pono is.

These are the best! Emmitt looks so handsome, all ready for winter! I bought Cessie a scarf but she refuses to wear it. I bought her a long sleeved dress and her dad refused to let her wear it! So I think I need to go order her a sweater off Etsy. So super cool!

  19. Those are great sweaters. Being a black pug with only one coat of fur, I need a coat in the winter. Lucky doesn't seem to care one way or the other.
Mom said that Bridget, the pug who came before, would stop walking if mom put a sweater on her. And once she took it off she would be fine.
