Anderson Ranch is a magical place where art is created, appreciated and taught everyday of the year. During the week, the classrooms are open 24/7 and the creative energy is amazing.
There are a ton of different workshops ranging in everything from furniture making to ceramics and printmaking. This is my third year at the ranch. The other two workshops I took were in printmaking.
The camp is comprised of several interesting buildings all with their own personality. This year, our class was in the loft above the wood barn.
Here are some examples's of Dan's work that just took our breath away...
What a cool camp! I want to go to camp!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! It looks like SO much fun! Love your Emmitt t-shirt. He was certainly there in spirit with you. Your muse!
ReplyDeleteHowie wants to know if there were any dogs on the camp property, and if so, what they had to eat. ;) That looks like a wonderful place to visit, Melissa! The books are so unique and beautiful. You should open a place just like this and invite puggies!

ReplyDeleteooooh - I'm with Nancy - you should open a pug-art camp where everyone can bring their puggies!! Oh boy, that would be crazy, huh?! Anyways, looks fabulous - I love art that requires tools!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing those wonderful pics!!! Just the barn itself would give inspiration. What a beautiful place. I'll bet Emmitt missed you! They should have a puggie daycare while you do your classes so puggies aren't left out!!

Wow Melissa, thanks for showing photos of Anderson Ranch. I've had quite a bit to catch up on with the last 3 posts. Your work and your sisters as well, is just beautiful..I loved seeing where your class was held, in addition , I loved seeing all the gorgeous books you've shown.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place to go each year. Most of all though, I think you are lucky to be able to go with your sister and share the fun together. That is so rare in a lot of families (including mine) so you should treasure that. Beautiful work!!!
Wow, what a great time you must have had. What great photos, what a great HOUSE!
ReplyDeleteWe are all so glad you had fun. What neat books! Everyone did something different and unique, didn't they.
