Corners of my Home - Part 2

As promised, here is some more of my favorite pug art that I have collected over the years. The next two dolls shown are made by a very talented artist in Guam that I found on Ebay several years ago. I have not been able to find her dolls since. This is why I try to buy something when I find it because it might not always be available.

A Pumpkin Pug doll from Guam.

A ceramic sculpture I found in Florida in 2001.

A collection of my handmade pug ornaments I made from my paintings several years ago.

and here are my tapestry pillows sitting on my grandma's antique love seat that I just cherish.
I am so excited, I am off to pack to go to San Diego tomorrow for a few days of R & R and the San Diego Pug Show on Saturday. Please check in tomorrow for a fun contest you can play while I am away. Fun!

Corners of My Home - Part 1

One of my favorite blogs, A Colorful Life, written by Liz Langley, recently showed us corners of her home with her favorite treasures. I loved the posts so much, I thought I would show some of my favorite treasures too.

The first one is a pug tile I purchased on Ebay several years ago. The pug is hand painted on it.

This is my rocking chair covered with two pug dolls I made several years ago out of burlap and buttons and two pug pillows I purchased on Etsy in a store called, Handmade by Boni.

This is one of my sofas with two silk screened pillows from Pillow Pillow Pillow and a rug hooked pillow in the center that I made inspired by one of my paintings.

This is my other sofa with two crocheted pugs I made and a handcrafted pug doll from Guam that I bought on Ebay a few years ago.

I will show you more pug treasures from my family room tomorrow!

New Apron and Fun Art!

I recently bought some cool pug fabric on Etsy, in great shop called Lucky Kaeru.

I made it into another craft show apron. :) I paired it with some polka dot fabric I found at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago. I am going to wear it at the Pug Show in San Diego on Saturday!

and one of my favorite artists, Tara Ross, has started making art dolls from her art and recycled wool sweaters. I just fell in love with her dolls and just got one. It is in my sewing room with some of the other art from Tara that I have been collecting.

and... I just bought this pug change purse on Etsy too in a shop called Cuore. I love her art and will be collecting more in the future!

Tomorrow I will show you some of my favorite pug art around my house that I collect from all over the world!

The Secret of the Circle Tags and a Meme!

Thank you all for your nice comments about my booth. It was so much fun to do and I wanted to share one of my little money saving secrets. When putting my booth together, I wanted a clear and inexpensive way to price my items. I also wanted the tag to be easily replaced or updated when necessary. I found the perfect solution...

Yogurt lids! I just saved them everyday after breakfast and made paper circles on my computer that I just cut out and tape in! Voila!

Emmitt says Hi! and wants to share this meme...

Roxy tagged us for the Six Word Memoir meme.
Here are the rules:
1) Write your own six word memoir.
2) Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you’d like.
3) Link to the person that tagged you in your post, and to the original post if possible so we can track it as it travels across the blogosphere.
4) Tag at least five more blogs with links.
5) Don’t forget to leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play.
6) Have fun

Emmitt - Breakfast, mom, nap, walk, sniff, Dinner!

Emmitt would like to tag Linda & Maisie, Liz & Henri, Weeny & Daisy, Pearl & Daisy, Diana & Minnie . :)

I Love What I Do!

I have a wonderful story that really shows why I love what I do.

About 2 weeks ago, I got an email with a picture attached asking if one of the pug collages I created was my work. I responded that it was and asked if she had any questions regarding it. Kim responded that she found the image on the web and knew from seeing my other pug art in the past that she knew it must be mine. She further went on to show me that the work had inspired her to create her own pug art as collages on canvas and wanted my permission to use the image that originally inspired her. I was so touched that I immediately commissioned her to make one for me.

It is a 14 x 18 wrapped canvas that she also had the wonderful idea to put on a background of Emmitt's name behind him.

Kim now has an Etsy Store where you can purchase one of her canvases or commission one for yourself in whatever size or color pallet you choose!

I placed my canvas in a place that I can see it everyday. It reminds me that we are all connected whether it be from meeting through our pugs, our art or just whatever makes us happy. I am so thrilled that my art inspired someone else to create their own art and that she then shared it with me. I Love What I Do and the wonderful people I meet everyday through it.

Emmitt says Buzz Buzz...

Hi Everyone!
It is me, Emmitt. I get to scribble on the blog today because my mom is busy as a bee working on something really fun. She is about to release two new products that she will be able to show you very soon.
Speaking of bees...

Here I am about 10 years ago stuffed in a bee outfit my mom made for me for my second halloween. I don't remember, but I do not think I liked it very much from the look on my face.

I wish I could tell you what she is up to, but I do not want to get in trouble. Just kidding. I never get in trouble! I'm too cute. Mom is a softie and loves me way too much! This is me trying out my very first kennel to go for a ride in the car. Boy, mom took a lot of baby pictures of me. I guess I don't blame her. I am cute!

A Great Show!

The Colorado Pet Expo 2008 was a huge success!

Our booth was jammed packed full of art, fun and people all weekend.

My display of books and calendars always makes me smile. It is my very own little pug library.

The raffle and postcards were a huge hit. I handed out over 200 and had about 150 people sign up for my Pug Notes Quarterly Newsletter. Lots of people wanted Emmitt's favorite dog cookie recipe that my friend Diana Evans shared with us for the Summer Newsletter to be released in May. Just let me know if you would like to sign up too!

Here are Melanie and I in the booth and...

Here are Mark and Fred. What a great family I have! I could not have done it without them!

We also met some wonderful friends!

It was an amazing weekend. We will be in booth #316 again next year. The date will be announced soon!

Meet the Pug Sitters...

I have hired a very special staff to look after Emmitt during the day while we are at the Colorado Pet Expo in booth #316 this weekend.

They love to listen to him sing...

Watch over him while he naps.

...and wait with him for the timer on the pug feeder to pop open at exactly 4:00pm to feed him dinner.
During the day, they take turns sitting in front of the magic dish and repeat over and over, "Open, Open, Open" until it magically opens to feed Emmitt.

and after dinner they read Emmitt his favorite story, Emmitt & Olive before bed.

This highly trained crew loves to take care of my Emmitt!
