Crochet Owl Pillow ~ Good Morning & Nitey Nite!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Oh My Gosh!

I am sooooo excited to show you this crochet owl pillow that I just finished!

I found the pattern on Etsy and just fell in love with the granny circle tummy design!

I bought the pattern immediately and started crocheting in my favorite colors!

I started with the large owl pattern, one strand of worsted weight yarn (the pattern calls for holding two strands together) and a size J/10 hook.

I love how big and cuddly she turned out!

My pillow measures about 17" high and 16" wide. :)

I embellished her a little by making a sleeping owl face for the back of the pillow so that she is actually two sided!

I also added little wings and feet which I took pictures of to show you...

Sleepy Face
"Nitey Nite"

Wings

Toes!

Awake Face
"Good Morning"

I just love how she turned out!

The hardest part is picking which side to show first! :)
Here are some photos I took for you to enjoy as she came to life!

The granny circle is growing!

The circle was so FUN to make!

You actually get to make two for this pattern.

One for the front and one for the back.

Then you crochet a head and border around the body for both sides.

Archie was a very good helper!

Then you sew a fabric insert and stuff it!

I actually filled the head with stuffing first to make sure I got it up into the owl ears at the top and gave myself a easy to sew through surface to sew the eyes and beaks into.

Ta Da!

She is complete!

That was so much FUN!

Yay!
More FUN is on the way!

Tomorrow is May 31st already!

I will release my Summer Newsletter for you to enjoy!

Please contact me if you would like a copy emailed directly to your inbox.

R-Chee and I had so much FUN creating it for you!

It is jammed packed with lots of new puggy items, recipes, favorite things and customer photos for you to enjoy!

Needle Felted Cotton Pods!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I just finished such a FUN project!

I have had this neat green bowl that I found at Goodwill sitting empty next to my crocheted veggie tray for about a year now!

I just did not know what to put in it... so I left the space open.

Open for an idea ... open for an inspiration to come to me. :)

Finally!  I had an idea this weekend!

I was walking through a neat little shop at the mall and saw some decorative cotton pods displayed.

Of course, I went right over to them and touched them!

I turned over the price tag, and gently placed them back down. :)

They wanted like $1,000,000,000 for a string of 5 pods! :)

Tee hee!

Well, maybe it wasn't $1,000,000,000, but it was close! :)
Sticker shock quickly turned into excitement!

I thought to myself that this is what I want to make for my green bowl!

So I went to Tuesday Morning and found a $3 box of potpourri and 3 neat glass onions for $1 each. :)

I filled the bowl with some coffee to take up space, smell good and look kinda earthy. :)

Then I took out the pods and some wool roving to needle felt some "cotton fluff".

Ta Da!

That was a fast and FUN project!

I really like how it turned out!

What FUN things are you creating?

Please leave me a note and let me know!

I cannot wait to hear all about them!

Dreaming of Blue Butterflies

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

It is me...
Archie!

Today is a special day to honor our veterans who have died in war.

When we think of them and their familes for the sacrifices they have bravely made for our country, we honor them and their memory.

Honoring memories of those who have gone over the rainbow before us is a very healing and loving way to connect to those we love and miss... both the 2 and 4 footed souls that have graced our lives.

I imagine everyone over the rainbow in heaven has beautiful blue wings just like the blue butterflies that we see floating, dancing and twirling through the warm breezes on bright summer days!

I asked my momma how we could celebrate Memorial Day and she had the idea to make a Butterfly Pug Doll! :)

She searched on Etsy for a pattern and adapted this wonderful Francisca Doll she found!

I just love how it turned out!

How FUN to combine the magic of Blue Butterflies and Pugs together!

What a special combination!

Today, I will play and enjoy our family day together and then dream of blue butterflies!

How did you spend your Memorial Day?

Please leave me a note and tell me all about it!

I cannot wait to hear!

Friday Funnies ~ Archie is Officially On Strike!

Happy Friday everyone!

It is me...
Archie!

As my momma reported yesterday, I am on day 2 of my official Strike today!

I am holding out on causing all smiles and out loud laughter with my silliness until I get a Pug Man Cave like Zack's! :)

I will sit here and pout until my demands are met which are...

* Insert Bubba Gump Shrimp voice here* :)

A Pug Man Cave decked out with...

A yummy homemade bundt cake baked by my Dad...

Pretty poppies lining the walkway...

... and festive fabric flags decorating the interior!

Hmmmm...

Luckily I did not say I would hold my breath as I think I may be in for a long wait for my Pug Man Cave!

I do not think going on Strike is necessarily the best strategy for getting what I WANT!
This pouting thing is hard work!

It is making me tired from fighting the urge to be FUN & Silly!

Oh this might be a looooong weekend for me!

I will keep you posted on my progress, but don't try this at home...

It isn't any FUN and I still do not have my Pug Man Cave!

...and the most frustrating part is that I although I am trying my hardest not to be cute...

I am STILL making my momma and Dad smile!

Humph!

I may need a Plan B!

Do you have any ideas?

Please leave me a note and let me know!

I need backup on this one!
