Bobble Squares Published ~ Interweave Crochet Spring 2010

Hi everyone!

What a wonderful surprise!

I was speechless when I got a tweet last week from a friend that she recognized my bobble squares in an article in the Spring Issue 2010 of Interweave Crochet. :)

I ran right out and got a copy.

If you flip to page 25, a photograph of a completed blanket for KAS is there with some bobble squares that I made and donated to Knit-A-Square Charity last year.

If you did not see it, here is my original post about the blanket when it was first photographed last May. :)

It brough happy tears to my eyes to see the square then and again today!

It truly is amazing how we can touch people all over the world in as small a gesture as crocheting and sharing and 8 x 8 square to keep a child warm.
How magical!

Friday Fun! ~ How to Make Favicons

Happy Friday everyone!

I had to share this fun thing I just learned how to do!

Have you ever wondered why some websites have cool little icons in the browser tabs and url bar when you visit them?

Well, it is as easy as copying and pasting a little string of code that refers to a picture you upload to your website.

I found a free service that allows you to generate and download a Favicon from any of your pictures and also gives you the string of code and directions to upload it to the root folder of your website.

Ta Da! It is like Magic!

I turned my two logo images for Pug Notes and Dog Art Studio into little Favicons!

Aren't they spiffy?

I know... the silliest things make me happy! :)

Speaking of happy...
I think Emmitt is preparing for a big event!
Two semi trucks just pulled up filled with mini meatloaf pans, ground beef, ketchup, balloons, a huge blow up swimming pool, slide, lounge chairs and a rock band!

Oh my gosh! My little puggy is up to something!
Do any of you know what this could be for?
Please leave me a note and let me know because all Emmitt does is smile when I ask him! :)

Fred's Photos!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I am so excited to show you the new art that my husband, Fred, is learning and creating!

A few months ago, he purchased a basic SLR camera to learn how to take the kinds of photos he has always wanted to capture.

Since then he has read several books on photography & composition, joined groups on Flickr and taken a variety of workshops.

I just love the images he is capturing! Here are a few he took in our backyard this weekend...

me crocheting :)

a bumble bee in the fountain :)

...and the first breathtaking photo is the sunrise this morning!
All of these shots were taken without editing them in photoshop!

I am so impressed!
I am always using Photoshop Elements to correct my photos that I take with my point and shoot camera. :)
In fact, we just upgraded from Photoshop Elements 4 to Photoshop Elements 8 and I signed up for a 6 week online class starting in May. Fred is signed up too, so I will show you what we learn!
Do you have any workshops or classes lined up for the Summer?
Please tell us all about them! We would love to hear!
