Happy Friday everyone!
I have a new project to show you. :)
After going to the wonderful fiber art show and admiring all of the beautifully knitted socks, dolls, and mittens, I was inspired to dig out my double pointed needles and give it a whirl!
About 20 years ago (oh my gosh, where does the time fly?) I learned how to knit socks and even started a beautiful mitten! I found it right next to my needles in the attic.
Isn't it neat? I bet I stopped because it was right around the time I packed up and moved to Colorado from Michigan.
I met Fred the first week I was here and I think this little mitten got packed away because of the new and exciting things that just happily rushed into my life!
Wouldn't it be fun to finish it now after all of these years? I will have to see if I can try to match the yarn at my favorite yarn store. :)
In the meantime, I started this colorful wristlet. It will provide extra warmth under those new mittens Melanie and I just got at the thrift store.
I will keep you posted on my progress. It was both challenging and fun to relearn how knit on these little needles. Thank goodness for YouTube! I think the hardest part for me was to knit the first row without getting all of the stitches twisted. :)
I am so excited! There are so many beautiful sock yarns that I want to buy! Maybe I can knit Emmitt some pug socks! Oh my!
I think I know what I will be doing this weekend! What fun things do you have planned? Please leave a comment and let us know!
